avid hotel North Platte an IHG Hotel

Traveling across country with our mini dachshund. This was a place that welcomed pets but was newer and nicely appointed. Conveniently located near Interstate 80, Friendly staff, clean modern rooms, nice outdoor spaces, and above average breakfast offerings. Oh and the bed was the best we’ve slept on in a long time. We are happy guests!

Ridiculous EV charger pricing! We would’ve stayed elsewhere had we known. Most hotels with EV chargers provide complimentary level 2 chargers. Others may charge a small per kWh fee or a low hourly fee. This hotel charges crazy high prices for BOTH: $5 per hour + 0.37 per kWh + 11% network fee + 7.5% sales tax. You can fast charge in Nebraska for far cheaper. The hotel is new, and our room was clean. The bed was comfy, and the shower had hot water. Breakfast was on par with other avid hotels. That’s the only reason for my 3 star rating. If you’re driving an EV, and you choose this hotel for its EV charging, this hotel is definitely ZERO STARS.

We had a great stay at the Avid Hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean. The staff is amazing and very helpful. We were traveling from Salt Lake City to Lincoln and just happened to stop for the night in North Platte. Ashley was so welcoming and helpful with restaurant recommendations. She got her manager involved to help us figure out the TV streaming. We were just there one night so didn’t take advantage of the fire pit and outdoor furniture. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how beautiful and clean the lobby was—very well-organized and inviting. Check-in was a breeze, especially with my service animal. I had requested a room near the elevator for easy access with my dog, and they made sure to accommodate that perfectly. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed. The bed was soft, comfortable, and felt luxurious to the touch. The blackout blinds were a great touch, making it super easy to control the light. There was also an impressive amount of storage space, which I really appreciated. The bathroom was fantastic—huge, with great water pressure and piping hot water, making for a perfect shower experience. One thoughtful detail was the magnet they provided for the door, specifically for service animals, in case of an emergency like a fire. It’s small things like that which really make a difference! The only downside was the fridge, which was tiny and didn’t include a freezer compartment. However, everything else more than made up for that small inconvenience. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you're traveling with a service animal. It’s clean, comfortable, and has excellent amenities.

I have generally liked Avid hotels. They tend to newer and clean, and provide a nice breakfast. What you need on a road trip. My complaint here is that this specific hotels you a "LNK Energy Fee" that is undisclosed prior to checkout (i.e., it was not on my reservation). And it is also not insignificant.($6.44 as opposed to like $0.50 or something). Perhaps they think it is small enough so that customers won't complain. It should be included in the reservation fees beforehand, or it should not be charged to customers. The front desk agent at checkout immediately knew why my bill was higher than expected but did not do anything about it (i.e., they have been doing this for a while on every customer it seems).
