Tried to charge us $120/night when the rate last time was $58/night. Truly scam artists. We never got into our hotel room and the first one had a ceiling tile on the floor, and the electricity was out. They upgrade us and that room is filthy. There was hair everywhere and bugs and a bunch of stuff on the floor. We tell them we donât want the room. Itâs too dirty and we found other accommodations and she said she could only refund one night at $120. Meaning they still got $120 although we never even got to stay in the room. I say whatever cause Iâm just gonna dispute it with my bank and then she tries to tell me that itâs broken and she canât refund anything eventually leaving us to call The local police who was able to get her to magically fix the machine she claim is broken. Would never recommend we had zero issues with the previous management, but something is horrible about this new one. Also, she couldnât even get us into our room because it wouldnât let her in and she had to manually take apart the lock. Just ridiculous and a waste of time and I paid $97 for the Hilton in Fargo and theyâre trying to charge $120 a night for a dirty room. insane. So thankful for Chazâs Air BnB on 119 Main saved us from this disaster! Beautiful and same cost!

I killed at least 24 flies in my room! I stayed almost a week, and every night there were new flies! Is that the state bird of North Dakota? I thought it was the mosquito. Food in the restaurant was just OK. Desk clerk also ran the alcohol store. A bare-bones operation at best!

The beds are great and clean rooms , food was just what we wanted and the service was good also , slow but we were told it was to be slow because of a big party, so no problem. Would recommend for a stay in this area

This motel is literally walking distance from Canada's border with the United States. The Red River, which delineates Minnesota and North Dakota, goes into Emerson behind the town walled off to try to prevent more flooding. Fred and Diane, who own the Maple Leaf, are the nicest people on Earth. Very engaging - he took me around town a couple of times to point out people and places. This was quite helpful for my work, and why I was in Emerson. My front tires were low, so he pulled out his air compressor and got my rental car back on a roll. Every tiny thing was done without asking - so thoughtful of them. The suite was clean and sharp - had everything I needed without having to get it. I went to the store in town and filled up the fridge with microwave food. The Maple Leaf Motel was just right, and so hospitable that I truly felt endeared to Fred and Diane. Best place in town. Just down from the Maple Leaf, by the way, is a Vietnamese Pho restaurant that filled me several times over with the best pho and fried rice. Met some good local people there, too. There's also a Chinese restaurant in town but I stayed with Pho as my "go!'.

This is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. There were no other options though. Lobby and halls are dirty looking and when you say a no frills hotel that is exactly what you are getting. Breakfast didn't amount to much of anything so we went to a café to eat breakfast. Our room smelled musty and old, sheets were wrinkled, looked already slept in and the carpet was dirty. There was no place to gather at the hotel to talk other than the bar/restaurant that doesn't open til 5pm.
