21/01/24 1800 check in. I travel for work and I frequently stay in hotels. I booked a room in knights Inn, grand forks and checked in fine. I got to my room and the first thing I did was wash my hands with the soap bar (important later) and proceeded to open my bags.  I hadn't seen patterned comforters on beds before in hotels and usually its duvets with covers, so I took a look at the comforter wondering how they kept those  clean. As I peeled it back I noticed marks  on the bottom sheet and a bump under the sheet between the matress and the sheet which after lifting the fitted sheet up slightly i believed to be a tissue. I thought if the bed was changed that would have been noticed. I took videos and sent to my friends explaining that I may have made a mistake booking here as i was grossed out by the bed but didn't think anything more of it or to take photos as I figured I'd go to the front desk and get the bed changed. Or be given different room. At first I opted for new sheets as to not mess another room but was handed the sheets over the counter which ofcorse, I was not paying for a hotel room and making the bed myself so I said I'd have a new room instead please.  This didnt seem to be a problem and a new room was given. I moved my stuff over and returned the keycard and thanked the receptionist and the interaction was polite and I did not think anything else of it. 5 minutes later I hear the receptionist and 2 other workers go to the room I was in (room 145) and they walk by my room raising their voices saying "thanks for using the soap bar and having a face wash, it was a dryer sheet" blatently so i would hear them, so I open the door and politely say "excuse me? Is there a problem" they replied it was a dryer sheet that i saw and the room was fine and the sheets were clean so I apologised for mistaking the dryer sheet for a tissue but the bed sheets were still dirty. She said they were not and I disagreed and said I would happily show her where the dirt was however, to my astonishment as she was walking through the hallway door she says " BYE BYE, GO BACK TO CANADA" I was left confused, disgusted and shocked by the whole interaction as I couldn't understand why using the soap bar to wash my hands was even the slightest part of the conversation. Washing my hands is always the first thing I do when I check in. I would never have complained if those sheets were not dirty and certainly not interested in seeing how many soap bars I can open in different hotel rooms in an evening so I don't know what the heck she was going on about with that. but what i do know is I will never be staying here again and I would advise anyone and everyone reading this to stay well clear.  Cleanliness gets a 2/10 Friendliness from staff get a 1/10 Breakfast 2/10 Soap bar gets a 10/10 because clearly that lady thinks I had one hell of a face wash to want to change rooms just for another one. "Go back to Canada" . And the funniest part of it all is... I'm British.

It’s outdated but we only stayed 1 night. It’s pet friendly so that was ok. And it was clean. There are closer places to town , we should have looked more. We probably won’t stay here again.. it doesn’t take much to get rid on the POT smell ..

The room is a bit dated and no elevator but the room is VERY CLEAN and comfortable. The staff is amazing. Tv didn’t work and he came up right away and fixed it. The pillows are very nice and so is the bed. Close to the freeway. Very quiet. Very nice stay for cost

Where do I start with this sxxt hole?! Let me start with this: DO NOT STAY HERE! My company booked me here for 8 nights, the price was good in their eyes and it scared me so I looked at the site on their web page, it looked old/dated but I am ok with old as long as it is clean! My co-worker and I arrived in town and did a drive by. We were both relieved because it looked good from the front so we went to work with the good feeling we had a ok hotel to sleep in. Now lets move to check in. First observation was the lobby stunk like cigarette smoke, ok no problem the price is right lets move forward. I walk in my room and the stench was horrible, I did a bedbug check and it was clean. Thank God. I started looking around and noticed everything was dirty! Carpets had not been vacuumed, bathroom was dirty, all counter tops were sticky! I went to the store and bought cleaning supplies, went back and cleaned. After cleaning everything as well as the bathtub I found that the drain does not work. It took 10 minutes for the tub to drain after I cleaned it! I never took my shoes off unless I was in bed or in the shower! Right about now your wondering why I stayed here?! It was the only hotel with rooms because of a concert in town as well as other events. My co-workers room was just as nasty with the addition of his TV did not work! Do yourself a favor and under no circumstances stay at this hotel. If I was going to be here one night I would choose my car to stay in. Luckily my company found another place for us to stay after the 2 night. Since some people will think I am being full of drama I would like to point out the positives of this establishment. There were no bedbugs or cockroach's! I can only speak of our 2 rooms the rest of the rooms maybe have a five star rating...........I bet not! Thanks for spending the time to read this! Now go book with a different hotel!

Everything was filthy. I scraped scum off the bathtub. The shower head only had half the water come out, the other half came out the tub spout. Looked like a murder scene had happened between the beds... Huge red stain. Front desk didn't seem to care about our concerns. Not even an apology was given. Also the pool was closed and no notification given. Looked like the main and halfway carpets hadn't been vacuumed for some time. Would not recommend
