Hampton Inn Charlotte North Lake Norman

The place was immaculate, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was great and all day coffee/tea/hot chocolate was a plus...Everyone working there was super nice, friendly and accomodating....my ONLY issue was the bathroom door...it's a sliding "barn door" type door and does not close completely or "seal"....in a small room, that's frustrating, to say the least...I asked the front desk and was told that all of the rooms had the same design for the bathroom door...my husband and I are married over 40 years, but still...it's nice to have a little "privacy" when using the bathroom...other than that, I felt that everything else there was above standard, comfortable and clean.

After a long day of interstate driving we stayed at this Hampton Inn just north of Charlotte. A very pleasant welcome by employee, Charnika that included fresh baked cookies. We are pretty loyal to Hampton Inn’s, and using the Hilton app we are able to pick the room we’d like to stay in. That is (In our opinion) a nice feature. No surprises, a comfortable, clean room, easy off and on the interstate.

I was unsure of 2 or 3 stars for this review. But the hotel was a little below the standard for this level of a Hilton property. The room: A few minor issues there that are below average, the first being is that you have no actual closet. It is on each side of the window below behind a blind. these spaces are very tiny and you can maybe hang up one shirt or so. There is also no freezer compartment in the mini fridge. The other issue with space is there is not a dresser, just a cabinet with a few small drawers. And a few minor wear and tear items like the sink in the bathroom. The sliding door did not have a catch guard meanign that it would bank against the border of the track when opening and closing it. The Tv was hard to operate and there was no channel guide to reference.These rooms are smaller than most hamptons. I had a room facing the interstate, the constant fan feature on the thermostat did a nice job getting most of it out but not all. I will say that the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were very nice, and the room was very clean. For the property grounds, I noticed the elevators had FILTHY carpet inside of them and the cabs were falling apart, some of the buttons didnt press easily, and the entire steel panel was not secured in on one side and would move and the elevator was going up and down and when you selected your floor, there were lights taken out of the cealing. They were dark, dirty and just not a nice space to be in. Also, the Breakfast was decent, but not up to par with some of the other Hampton hotels I have visited in the past. Not a lot of variety, and no plain eggs, they had items mixed into them. Service was decent, I did not interact with the staff very much due to checking in on the Hilton app, but they were fine with no complaints.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property! We were greeted immediately by Charnika who could not have been friendlier or more helpful with food options in the area and information on the area itself!! As soon as we opened the door to our room, we were greeted with a wonderful fresh scent, and the room was immaculate!! Nearby town of Cornelius has great shopping and restaurant options and is just a cool place to walk around! If you happen to get a room by the highway, simply turn your fan on -the road noise did not bother us a bit-thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to stay again next year!!

I had a wonderful stay at the Hampton. The room was very clean & the bed was super comfy. The complementary cookie & water write very welcomed. I believe the front desk agent’s name was Charnicia, she was the sweetest girl. She has amazing customer service. I would definitely book again.
