Murray Hotel

What an experience! From friendly hotel staff, to great food at the restaurant, to the best bed I have ever slept in - staying at The Murry is sure to please! With all of this, you also get a taste of Livingston's history with the period decor in the rooms.

Cool hotel conveniently located near shops and restaurants. Our room was very spacious with a small fridge and a small coffee pot. Staff was generally friendly and attentive. BUT........the hotel is right across the street from the train tracks. The trains are REALLY loud and come through several times a night. They leave you earplugs in the room . . . they don't help. The room was very hot, we opened the windows and turned on the AC and it was still hot - which obviously didn't help with the trains, but it was either deal with hot or deal with train noise. My one night stay there was not a good night sleep.

The hotel is a perfect mixture of history with ALL the modern amenities. Staff is great! It is located right downtown, convenient to shops, delicious food, and a great coffee shop. We absolutely would stay there again. Simply a lovely place to stay.

What a treat!!!! Walking into the lobby is like stepping back in time. The folks there were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and quiet. I heard the train in the distance, but it did not bother me at all and the hotel is centrally located so you can walk to most restaurants, bars and shops. Be sure and take a ride on the elevator at least once. What a great hotel!

This is an old hotel which reflects its history and has not been remodeled. We enjoyed staying here for its authenticity, especially the 120 year old hand operated elevator. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The best thing about this hotel is its location right in the midst of all the Livingston activity. If you want to experience what it was like to have stayed in this town years ago, this is the place.
