I chose this hotel because it was close to the venue where I would be attending a concert and I could get there from the airport on public transportation. For the price, it had several flaws. While the interesting art and colorful rooms were a plus, there were some oddities and some outright failures. Among the failures--there was some kind of artistic looking thing on the nightstand that I guess was supposed to be an alarm clock, but there was no way I could figure out how it worked. The phone on the desk was not connected. This would have been really helpful, since the "front desk" is on the 12th floor. There was a door on my floor that said "ice." When I opened it, there was a microwave (good to know--the sign could have said that), but no ice. I started up to the 12th floor to find out where the ice was (since I couldn't call) and ran into a housekeeper who told me it was on every other floor. (So why did the door on my floor still have the "ice" sign on it?) Some hotels have a handout or leave a sheet in the room that provides information nbout such things. My room had an entryway that was very dark, even in daylight. This was the only place with adequate room for the suitcase rack, but it was hard to see what was in my suitcase since there was no light. As to other hotel amenities, the area on the first floor had an artistic funky looking bench that was way back towards the front of the space, but the entry door was at the back. There was no place near the door sit to wait for one's ride, nor any bench or anything to sit outside and wait. Finally, there was the breakfast in the restaurant. Unfortunately, Grand Avenue is not as bustling as it once was and there is really no place else to eat breakfast (except a Starbucks which was a bit of a walk.) The restaurant was late opening, the service was slow, and the food was not great. To be fair, dinner the night before was pretty good, though.

We reserved and stayed at the Angad Arts Hotel because of its close proximity to the Sheldon Theater. Entering the room the expectations for a stylist hotel room faded. The room did not look anything like the pictures with interesting linens and other details not existent anymore. Just a plan white bed. The USB A ports did not work. The clock had the wrong time and could not be changed. The glass shelf above the sink was coming off the wall. To small Fuji water bottles was provided at $6.00/bottle and they charge a $75 incidentals fee at check-in. On the positive side the room was a good size, outside view was nice. They charge for parking, but street parking is readily available on the street. Would stay here again for its location to Fox Theater, Sheldon Theater, a jazz music venue and restaurants all within walking distance.

Loved how each room is so colorful. We have stayed in Blue and Yellow. We plan to return in November to stay in a Green Room. Everything we did: dine, visit 3 art galleries and a show at the Fabulous Fox were all within walking distance. The view from our room included the Arch in the background. The bed was very comfortable and the Roof top Arts Bar was our favorite place to end the evening. If you are looking for a place to stay, this is it. Enjoy, I have no doubt that you will.

My wife and I spent a week in St. Louis. Our stay at the Angad Arts Hotel was wonderful. No, it was AWESOME! From the Art Bar on the roof to the Commonwealth on the first floor, our stay was like being away from home while being at home. The staff was great! Our roomâs color was green. We had so much fun we invited our kids to join us. They stayed in red and blue rooms. The Fabulous Fox is just across the street. St. Louis is a great town, and the Angad Arts Hotel is a great place to stay!

I liked the concept of this hotel, being able to choose a room based on vibe and color. I selected the green room, and it was exactly as promised - very green! Everything was clean and had what I needed. Although staff was super friendly, I did have housekeeping loudly knocking on my door early in the morning and then almost enter while I was still in bed. I canât remember if there were any âdo not disturbâ signs to hang, or if I had one up and they ignored it, but either way it feels like an avoidable awkward situation. The Art Bar views are nice, and I enjoyed my drink. I do wish this rooftop area was open all day though, as the rest of the hotel views are not as good. I didnât get any free drinks as mentioned during my booking on their website. This is not necessarily the fault of the hotel, but the restaurant offering breakfast was an overall bad experience for me. Breakfast is not included, but when I inquired I was directed to the attached restaurant located on the first floor. Despite showing up an hour before breakfast ended, I was rushed to finish and leave. I appreciate quick service, so at first I wasnât bothered by how quickly the waitress returned to take my order, but when she was just as quick to take my plates, give me a to go cup for my coffee, and drop the check, I realized I was being rushed out. Iâm not sure why this happened, as again, I was well within the breakfast hours. I think this hotel would be much better off offering a basic, included breakfast on their rooftop instead of partnering with this restaurant. Overall, this wasnât a bad stay, but I was a bit disappointed by the price point in connection to some of its faults.
