Maddens On Gull Lake

I met my son at Madden's for a weekend in September. It was the perfect time to visit since the summer season was done and less crowded plus the weather was still warm. We had a cabin along the lake with a deck. Our cabin had 2 queen beds, bathroom, and small fridge/microwave. The cabin was clean, and housekeeping made daily stops to inquire if we needed anything. We wished there was a kitchenette to prepare a simple meal/snack. This resort is huge and offers many places for dining. We were even able to order from the pizza cafe and have it delivered to our cabin. We enjoyed walking on the property and along the lake. We also used the laundry facilities, which were not near our cabin, so we had to drive and find a place to park.

Madden's Resort is a memory making machine. The staff treats us like family and my kids feel like they are in a good old fashioned movie where cell phones don't exist, people have there head up to give you a friendly wave and every day feels like a brand new adventure. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked very well. I rented a pontoon and took the kids went tubing. Marina staff was excellent. I golfed Pine Beach East 3 times and had a blast. Tee off after 6 and you have the course to yourself. I even saw three BEARS! Kidding, but I did birdie the Par 6 6th each day! Multiple places to eat including The Mission where walleye is always "the choice". Check in and Check out was a breeze. We rented a golf cart to cruise around the resort. My 13 year old got pulled over as you need to be 18:) It's experiences like that makes you wish you were a kid again pushing the limits and smiling until you fall asleep. We go to Madden's a couple times a year. I sincerely hope my kids choose to visit this place forever.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. The packages offered are slightly deceptive. Caution with cancelation policy even at 6 months out. If you make an error, they will not genuinely attempt to assist or refund you even 6 months out from the stay. I accidentally booked an extra room. Realized it 6 months before the stay. Disappointed, as the staff seemed quite antagonistic rather than helpful.

The room’s design smartly accommodated various sleep schedules, allowing for both early sleepers and night owls to coexist comfortably. This thoughtful setup was perfect for our family gathering. Amenities: Madden’s plethora of amenities catered to every age and interest in our group. The swimming pools and hot tubs were a hit, and the evening activities like bingo and trivia added a fun and engaging twist to our stay. The resort truly caters to all, ensuring that whether you are part of a family, a couple, or a group of friends, you will find enjoyable and high-quality facilities. Dining: The dining experience at Madden’s was truly a highlight. The buffet, included in our package, was exceptional with an expansive selection that exceeded all expectations. Each morning, the breakfast buffet offered everything from freshly made omelets and waffles to a variety of fruits and cereals. Dinners were a gastronomic delight with a wide range of choices that catered to all tastes—fresh seafood, various cuts of premium meats, an array of vegetarian dishes, and classic comfort foods like beans and potatoes. The quality of the food was matched by the attentiveness and warmth of the restaurant staff, who welcomed us with open arms and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their efforts to personalize our dining experience and cater to specific dietary needs made every meal feel special and homely. Customer Service: Customer service at Madden’s was unparalleled. Suzanne, in particular, was a standout, showcasing professionalism and a genuine interest in our satisfaction. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail made our experience smooth and personalized. Furthermore, the entire restaurant staff were exceptional, greeting us warmly each day and continuously ensuring our comfort. They were proactive, anticipating our needs and adjusting services to enhance our stay. This level of care from the staff across the board—from the grounds crew to the maintenance team—contributed to a warm, welcoming atmosphere that felt like a home away from home. Atmosphere: Despite the resort’s bustling activity with over 250 guests, Madden’s maintained a relaxing yet vibrant atmosphere. We always felt prioritized and well-catered to, making it feel as though we were one of just a few groups present. Overall Experience: Madden’s encapsulates the essence of Minnesota’s hospitality and lakeside charm. From leisurely activities like tennis and pontoon rides to enjoying a simple pizza or engaging in extensive golf, the resort offers a diverse range of activities. I highly recommend Madden’s to anyone looking for a top-tier golf resort experience in Minnesota Lakes Country. Here, excellent service and a remarkable stay aren’t just expected; they’re guaranteed.

Outdoor paradise! Multiple golf courses both on the property and near buy. Fishing of course, plus many outdoor activities are available. The scenery is gorgeous. Many type of accommodations are available. Will come back again.
