Hotel is in a great location. Right on Main street, very close to the WWI museum and Union Station. It easy from hotel to go both directions to Country Club Plaza or DT. Very easy. The hotel has free parking and that is a huge plus. They do need do an update to the hotel. The staff was nice, the breakfast was a pretty good selection. The hotel is near two of the major hospitals in KC and the sirens at night.... all night were very loud. The location is good, you do have to drive for food. If you need to rent a car Avis is right down the street and easy to find.

We utilized valet for our entire stay. Very friendly staff, fast service. Jared and Hunter were great! We had a suite on the 9th floor that had a beautiful view! Walking distance to lots of restaurants and places to stop for a drink. Would totally stay here again!

We (family of 3) didn't stay here long (only 2 nights during the week) and if there were other options for a Marriott, I probably would have chosen an alternative. Location is good for downtown and highway access. It was an easy, short drive to Union Station, Crown Center, and the Money Museum. Rooms are like apartment/condos; ours was on the 2nd floor with 2 queen beds; access was a wooden, outdoor staircase that creaked in some spots. Overall, the room was okay, but it was showing its age. There was peeling paint and rusted hinges in the bathroom; and the dresser drawers would never stay shut, slowly opening and staying open. The wall lamps were old style and did not appear to be fastened well, as 1 would easily tilt and be crooked. There was no soundproofing: you can easily hear cars go by (we faced the main street), the neighbors walking past (and shouting too), and the water running from next door and upstairs. The beds were comfortable enough, but I couldn't sleep well because of the noise level. Not all the TV stations could be received as advertised; they were pixelated and scrambled. There was only 1 book for information on Kansas City; it would have been helpful for those not familiar with the area to have a greater list of nearby tourist and dining spots. Personally, we didn't like the layout of the room. It is difficult for 1 person (in whichever bed) to remain sound asleep if another person has to use the light in the kitchen, living area, or bathroom. There is no separated wall for the bedroom, so any visible light will shine toward the bed. My son and I went to breakfast 1 morning, and unfortunately that wasn't satisfactory. There was very little hot food left at 0830; bacon was very greasy, and the scrambled eggs were tough and rubbery. Fruit was gone, and only 1 serving left for the waffles. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and courteous. Our room was tidy and clean, and had all needed towels, bedding, and kitchen supplies. The breakfast area and small lobby area were also tidy and clean. In summary, we found this Marriott to be of lower quality than other Marriott hotels we've stayed in, given the price range. I doubt we would stay here again, unfortunately.

This was a mostly good experience. What was great: - Very good breakfast variety everyday - Staff was friendly and informative - They have the very best shuttle driver!!! Mr. Henry was just the best. He gave us excellent suggestions for dinner and places to visit. He always had a smile and was always on time to take us where we needed to go. - The hotel offers free shuttle anywhere within 4 miles from the hotel (and there are many great places to go within that distance). -Fast check in/check out - Comfortable bed What needs work: - No elevator so it is not recommended for people with limited mobility. - The rooms were easily visible and accesible from the street (that was scary for me) - You can hear your neighbor. They provide earplugs but still... - The evening reception is now only 3 days and poor selection.
