The hotel itself was fine. However, during check-in, my rental car was parked outside and was backed into by a driver who then sped off, leaving quite a gash in my driver's door. My insurance company told me that the managers were being uncooperative and that there were no cameras in the area. I went out later and saw that there WAS a camera, and it was pointed exactly where my car had been parked!! I called both managers, Derrick and Lisa, and then wrote them as well, to ask if they could just examine the camera footage and find the culprit. They returned neither the calls nor the emails to me and, as a result, I had to pay over $1000. out of my pocket because of their uncooperative and discourteous actions. Or rather, NON actions. If it were me in their shoes, I would've attempted to help the guests who had put some faith in the HIE brand. For this reason alone, I would recommend this hotel to NO one.

This is an excellent property. The staff is friendly and efficient, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport, which is nice. I used the workout facility, and there is a nice pool as well that I did not take advantage of. The food at their restaurant is good, and the full bar is definitely a plus. This will be my go to hotel when I am in the area.

Here’s a revised and more firm version of your feedback: --- Although some issues were partially resolved, our stay fell short of expectations. I was initially under the impression that breakfast was included with our booking, but this was not the case. Our first room was poorly maintained; the TV was non-functional, and the AC stopped working entirely. We were transferred to a PURE room, which was a notable improvement, but the overall experience remained subpar. The cleaning staff frequently failed to complete our requests, requiring us to make repeated calls to the front desk. Additionally, the TV in the room had a very limited selection of channels. We were given two breakfast passes, but the food served was cold. Even after specifically requesting hot food, this issue was not addressed. The meals were basic, comparable to those served at a Holiday Inn Express, and it was clear the kitchen staff could benefit from additional training. Despite these significant inconveniences, no discount or compensation was offered. The day management was unhelpful and unwilling to address most of these issues adequately. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend considering a different location for your stay, as this property did not meet basic hospitality standards. --- This revision maintains your points while presenting them in a clear and firm tone. Let me know if you'd like further refinements!

I am deeply disappointed and appalled by the service I received from IHG, this specific hotel location, and HotelTonight. As a loyal customer who has spent thousands of dollars with all three companies over the years, I feel completely let down. After driving over 70 hours due to a death in the family, we were looking forward to a safe, clean, and comfortable place to rest. Instead, we were met with unacceptable conditions: the room reeked of mothballs and stale air, the heater was blasting, and the carpet clearly hadn’t been vacuumed. The bathroom had a constant foul odor resembling feces, forcing me to clean the room myself. The night was a nightmare. Two alarms blared non-stop, preventing any sleep and exacerbating my anxiety during an already emotional time. There were people fighting in the next room and running up and down the halls all night. To make matters worse, the security guard followed us to our car with glaring lights, adding to the stress. The next morning, I attempted to address these issues with the hotel manager. Despite asking at the front desk twice, he never came out. I called from my room three times, all of which went to voicemail. Hoping IHG corporate could help, I contacted them, only to be told I needed to deal directly with the manager. When the manager, Derek, finally called our room, he dismissed my concerns outright, claiming the alarm wasn’t on the property and therefore not his responsibility. He was condescending and rude. I contacted IHG again, and they assured me Derek would handle the situation and call me back—but after waiting two hours, I heard nothing. I then reached out to HotelTonight to request a credit or refund. While waiting for their response, Derek called again, verbally attacking me and calling me a liar. He used vulgar language, demeaned me as a woman, and denied any validity to my complaints. He even banged on our door at 1:40 PM, despite our checkout being at 2 PM, and told us we were no longer welcome at the hotel. This experience left me in tears and feeling personally attacked. I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inns over the years, and I’ve never encountered such disrespect or unprofessionalism. I am requesting a full refund to my bank account immediately and either a credit on my IHG account or my HotelTonight account as compensation for this horrific ordeal.

Pretty scammy situation… We made our PREPAID and non-refundable reservation through Park/Stay/Fly for two nights – one at the start of our trip and one at the end – with parking for our vehicle between. We’d done this before at this hotel and it worked out well and the price for it all was reasonable for what we got. Our initial check-in and first night stay in late October was no problem. Upon our return near midnight on November 7th, we took the provided shuttle from the airport to the hotel and at the desk, I noted I had a paid reservation under my name, providing my ID. The clerk did the usual tapping on his computer and then mumbled something about a temporary security fee (not unusual). When I noticed the “security fee” I was being asked to authorize on my card was for over $166, I said this can’t be right for just a temporary hold. The clerk told us if was for the room PLUS the temporary security fee. I told him that was incorrect as I had prepaid in full. Clerk said “that’s not what I show” in a rather curt, unprofessional way. Luckily, being a very organized traveler, I had the printed receipt of my pre-payment in my bags which I pulled out. When I produced it and put it on the counter for the clerk to see, he just waived it away and said “I’ll work it out here” without even glancing at it. Um…OK. And then magically, he produced a correct $50 temporary charge for security and our room key without ever looking at my proof of prepayment, without so much as an apology for the misunderstanding. He just curtly sent us on our way to the elevator. How could he go from “that’s not what I show” to suddenly finding I’d already paid for the room, without the documentation I gave him and that he ignored? More than a little fishy. That sounds like a scam… Weary travelers returning late at night just anxious for their room, you charge them for it again and they’ll never really notice. BUT THIS IS FAR FROM THE END OF THE STORY… Now that we are home from our travels by several days and having time to review credit card charges, I found that this Holiday In did, in fact, charge me, without my authorization, for BOTH nights we stayed at the hotel…the beginning and end of the trip. The woman clerk when we checked in, clearly understood the ParkStayFly package I had paid for as she even took all the vehicle information for the 11 days or so of parking. Yet, and without her saying ANYTHING to me, charged my card for a one night stay at the hotel. And then, after the issues described above upon our return to the hotel, the clerk told me “he’d take care of it” and, apparently, that is by charging me for the room without my authorization at all. BOTH of these nights were pre-paid (and non-refundable) through the ParkStayFly offer. I’ve written to both the hotel and ParkStayFly and have yet to have either of them resolve this issue. My next step is to have my bank charge-back to the hotel for the two nights they charged me. This is either a huge scam or very poor management. Maybe both. This is a giant red flag and I will pursue this completely. I could NEVER recommend this hotel. Never again PDX Holiday Inn!
