Holiday Inn Joplin an IHG Hotel

They had problems with the ADA room I had a reservation for and didn't email me. They admitted it right then and said they screwed up. They give me another ADA room and they comp me the night stay. They also gave me 2 comp breakfast in their restaurant. The counter guy when I checked in was great, he couldn't stop saying how sorry he was and also the hotel was sorry. Before I even asked about why I should pay for a room I didn't want he said that his manger said don't charge him for the room. I stay at about 40 hotel nights a year and never have I been treated this nice. Now to the room. The room was being remodeled and things were a little messy but was told beforehand, but it had a roll in shower and that is what I wanted and needed. I have stayed there before, and I will stay there again. Room was very big, bed was great, heat and A/C worked fine, WIFI had 5 bars. Again, they went above what I had expected without having to email IHG. They were GREAT

First time ever on check with a firm reservation that room rate was adjusted upward on arrival. Hotel said on arrival there were actually various military/government rates apart from one published fixed rate set on national web page. Never happen previously as long time member, user. Was minimal up charge so did not quibble, feeling that Neev Holding/KMG Hotels management firm doing disservice entire Corporate image worried about pennies. Local area has so many hotels, all needing more business. Sad that hotel new and clean, but not welcoming or smiling, no breakfast, no gratis water, just looking spartan.

The hotel is situated close to everything that Joplin has to offer, the staff were fine and assisted us with a personal problem, the only problem was that during our stay the pool was closed. We ate at the Route 66 pub and grill in the hotel, which was good and the buffet breakfast was also good.

Very clean hotel. Very friendly staff. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Conveniently located off of I-44 (but was in a weird placement off of the main road). Tons of chain restaurants within walking distance. Didn’t offer a continental breakfast… which was a bummer. But great value. Felicia in the restaurant was absolutely amazing.

We had a good stay here - rooms are spacious and clean. We didn't have breakfast, but tried out the gym - which was ok. The hotel was very convenient for the highway that we were travelling on, and is close to a number of restaurants.
