Hampton Inn Cape Girardeau I 55 East

I arrived late at night with a friend and I was expecting a great property based on the reviews. There were only two small issues: zero recognition for being a regular HH member AND they only had one functioning elevator. No big deal late at night, but in the AM you're sharing an elevator with housekeeping and other guests. The stairs were faster.

We weren’t sure what to think about this place because no review has been written since March 2024 (that we cd find). We were pleasantly surprised to find a well-maintained, clean property. Every employee we interacted with was doing their job cheerfully. It is always a pleasure to visit properties like this because that’s a rare thing these days. Our bathroom was bright and clean. The beds were firm, not saggy, and you had your choice of four pillows. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked—no sticky floors, crumbs, etc. It was a typical Hampton free breakfast, no surprises. I can easily recommend this property without reservation.

BED BUGS!!! Bedding not clean. Windows dirty. Reported bed bugs to front desk clerk who very casually said “we will have to check into that for ya!”. I reminded here we were checking out so she’d be checking into BED BUG INFESTATION for the hotel. Avoid this hotel…very nice looking Holiday Inn Express next door.

Hotel was extremely clean and appeared to be relatively new. Rooms and beds were comfortable. The staff members were all friendly. Breakfast was not great and below typical Hilton standards….but overall it was a great stay. We would stay here again.

I booked 3 rooms here while our family of 5 (plus 3 boyfriends/girlfriend) drove my parents down to Florida. The hotel was nice, rooms were good. I would definitely not want to stay on one of the lower floors. We did have a noise complaint issued against us on one room. It was 8 in the evening and we just got back from dinner and everyone was taking turns changing in the bathroom to go swimming. The room below us was trying to sleep so we felt trapped in the room where we couldn't even move. The front desk staff never recognized my diamond status, not a huge issue, but a disappointment after we spend tens of thousands in Hiltons every year. Pool was warm, no hot tub, but we knew that going in. Breakfast was good. Very convenient location. We would consider staying here again if we were in the area.
