Flat Creek Lodge

Check in was not easy, they tried charging rack rate which was 25% higher than the confirmed reservation. After a bit of an argument a manager stepped in and they honored the lower rate as quoted and confirmed via email. The room was not good. Broken vanity tops, stuck faucet, frozen over freezer. Free breakfast is kind of a joke. I'll be booking somewhere else next time.

We stayed for one night for a wedding and thankful that was all the longer we stayed. Staff is extremely polite and accommodating. Room was large but extremely disappointing. Our toilet didn’t work, bed was horribly uncomfortable and broken on one side. Needs a lot of updating. We paid $189 for a night but the quality of the room was no where near that. I would expect this type of room to cost $70-$90. Wouldn’t return.

We really like this place. They are currently short staffed, but seem to do their best to accommodate. We had one of the nicest big rooms I’ve ever gotten for $140. The restaurant is a favorite as well. So far this is my first choice for a room in Hayward.

Hotel staff is doing their best, but this places needs complete overhaul. Rooms are overpriced, should be $70 for this level. Bathrooms have counters and toilets made are not standard height, and none or for handicaps. There is no elevator and the steps dont appear to be OSHA compliant. Again, staff was pleasant- they just dont have much to work with here.

We called at the last minute hoping to get lodging to avoid a big winter storm. Every person we encountered on the staff was friendly, courteous and very welcoming. We had our dog with us and she also was treated like a celebrity. Dealing with staff shortages on the day before the start of the busiest weekend of the year for this place didn't seem to phase anybody. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was well done. Simple but satisfying. We certainly will make this a stop the next time we are in Hayward.
