I chose American based on price, pictures, and the ratings. The gal at the desk when I checked in was wonderful! I asked for a suggestion for supper and she suggested the Mar Grill which was wonderful! Then I went to my room, washed my hands and thought I would just try out the lotion that was mounted on the wall by the sink. You have to watch out for that thing I held my hand under the spout, but the lotion squirted over my hand and onto my vest That I was wearing at the time. I tried washing my vest, but it was stained. Then in the morning when I wanted to take a shower, the shower soap was completely empty, which I didn’t find out until after I was in the shower and already wet. I would suggest checking the containers before you get in the shower. Apart from that, the room was clean and breakfast was OK.

We were headed south toward the Sandhill Crane migration & our first leg ended in Worthgington - we watched the weather all day. Perfect place to stop since we didn't run into snow. This place was very conveniently located; 1/2 way AND it shared a parking lot with a restaurant!!!

The toilet was so small my 8 year old grandson though it was a potty chair. Very small bathroom. Cost substantially higher than expected based on AmericInn stays on prior travels. This motel quality reminds me of a Super 8, but the price makes me expect much better motel. I used to think of AmericInn as a medium quality, medium priced motel. No longer.

Staff was very impolite, 1 room smelled like a 3 pack a day smoker had been living in it and there was painting going on that we were not made aware of prior to our visit. Overall the experience was a major disappointment. I would NOT recommend this hotel as an option.

The room was a bit shabby and worn around the edges with visible wear on the armchair and a very short toilet (it startled me each time I sat down). However, it was clean and overall comfortable. Front desk was courteous and helpful. Would stay here again.
