I have such mixed reviews on this place. We were attending a concert 1.25 hours away so we stopped beforehand to check in knowing it would be late when we arrived. I confirmed when I checked in that our room had a king and a pullout (reservation said it slept 3). Front desk person was very kind and shared all rooms had this set up (wasn’t true). We arrived after 11 pm and go straight to our room. Key won’t work. I head down to the desk and a my daughter and husband wait at the door. A man finally comes to the door and tells them we have the wrong room. We felt so bad for waking them but it was the room we were given. I head back to the desk (another very kind worker) who was so confused because we showed in that room and he had no idea who was staying there. He called his manager. We later learned that room did not have the pullout (so would have been another issue). After 20 minutes (and it was late) he found us a room. He walked us up to the room to confirm it was correct and no one was there. We actually slept soooo well (probably due to exhaustion;). I’ve actually emailed the manager twice asking if they would share the mattress type and pillow type (because my husband and I never find a brand we both like). Still no response (still hopeful). Breakfast was good. Lots of hiccups but two staff members we dealt with were very kind. And apologies to whoever had to be woken at 11 pm with someone trying to enter their room :/

Enjoyed my stay here at this tucked-away HI Express. This is a fairly new property on the lake, so woke-up every morning looking at the water. Near a lot of stuff--and room was clean, and comfy. Breakfast was plentiful, and varied. Can't wait to come back !

This place is worn out and old and it seems nothing has been replaced for years. The bed had two deep divots in it that you could not roll out of. The sliding shower door had no handle on the inside, leaving one trapped. The whole place was dirty. A couch in the check in area was wobbly and made one feel unsafe. Never received the receipt by email. Would not recommend and definitely will not go back.

Good things about the stay: Friendly front desk staff, free parking, free shuttle to Mayo Clinic, lots of options for breakfast, quiet. Bad things about the stay: The bathroom floor and shower floor were covered in hair. There was no attempt to even try to clean those areas before we checked-in. The shower floor was also very stained looking, but not so much so that some bleach and a good scrubbing wouldn't cure it. The tile had numerous hairs belonging to someone/something else. The shower was shocking. I opted not to use it. I'm not sure if a dog had been bathed in it or if a human lost a lot of hair, but there were probably 100 hairs or more in these areas. Never saw anything like it before. The bed sheets had a few hairs belonging to previous guests. I always find this so unpleasant. I didn't say anything to the front desk staff for several reasons, just sucked it up. (Staying with elderly person)

Had to stay one night after an emergency brought us to Mayo. The room that was promised on the phone was not what we got. We had called before booking due to a specific request for a room with a couch so my mom could sleep upright after her fall. When asking to be moved, the front desk person told us that was all they had. Her initial solution was to cancel the reservation instead of looking in they system to see if there was the room we booked available. It was pouring rain and my mom had a traumatic fall so I was not going to move hotels at that point. When pressed, the room magically was available. On top of that, this hotel is just run down and dirty. One of the pillow cases had blood stains on it. And to top it all off, the air conditioner was broken. My mom was beyond exhausted so we just had to stay there and deal with it. I would not recommend anyone stay at this location. There are so many other choices right there that will surely be better than here.
