Rum River Motel Princeton

I thought manager was nice and helpfull. The place definitly needs some work. Ice machine was not working, so that alone was a star burner. I'd recommend it for a place to sleep if your not picky. It was clean.

The room was expensive for what we got. $250 for two nights (including our pet fee). Room had tile floor which was nice. Bed was clean. Bathroom was not renovated- stained grout, mismatched toilet seat, old faucet that needs replacing, etc. Metal door key was disturbing, although doors outside were locked at night. Office opens at 9AM, closes at 10 PM. I got locked out at 4:15 AM after walking my dog; key did not work in the door. TV was old and hung over the credenza. Channels were fine. Owner/manager was friendly. For not much money, our room could be upgraded to reasonable- Would I stay there again? Probably not if I could find anything else within a reasonable distance of my event.

Filthy motel, would not unpack till I cleaned the room. Went to the big box store for cleaning and disinfects .Slept on my car blanket ,I did not trust that the bedding was clean. AC was dusty, did not use the unit because of possible airbourn pathogens . The furniture was stained with grease, dust and ????

We were in Princeton so we could attend a memorial service for my late brother-in-law. We needed a room that was pet-friendly and from past experiences we knew this hotel allows pets. My oldest daughter called in the reservation the day before we were to arrive. They assured her that they would ready a room for us on first floor so our dog wouldn't have to walk up stairs (he has an ACL injury and limps pretty badly.) The owner is very kind and, knowing we were driving two plus hours after I got off work at 11 PM, stayed up to welcome us. The owner is trying to make the hotel as welcoming as possible with what I assume is a tight budget. The bed was comfortable and the shower had an adjustable spray on it. There was enough hot water to last through a soothing shower. On our first night we were very glad to have an air conditioner that worked! We had a quiet two nights. For breakfast, Merlin's was in walking distance just across the parking lot. No, there aren't all the bells and whistles amenities of a franchised branded hotel but the price of our stay was inexpensive and we could have our dog with us. And in talking to the owner when we were about to leave, I know he cares about the business and his guests.

this is my families first night here, we are homeless and our program sent us here. Upon arrival the manager was just so sympathetic and very passionate about life choices and has a want to help people. I talked to him for two hours before I started unpacking my stuff from the vehicle. This place isn't in top notch shape ive noticed but he did renovate sometime recently. The whole buying on the floors is tiled. There isn't much for amenities or things that make it a grand hotel, but the manager whom I assume is the owner lives here and has the upmost desire to keep his guests happy. He doesn't have the money these big hotels have, but he makes up for it with kindness and his effort to make things as pleasant as possible. Our shower knob was broken and he called his maintenance guy into work right away even though I told him not to worry much about it no rush. He offered to reach out to his contacts to help us get gas cards so my girlfriend could start her job before I got paid in 2 more weeks. There isn't much in the rooms but two beds a couple outlets a tv microwave and fridge and a table. The wifi is horrible because of outdated protocols his router uses and its hard to get a signal. Im going to give him advice that he should bring to his son whom he said knows about networking. I hope I can help him get his building fully wifi ready without it costing him much. Some wifi extenders around the building and him getting a new router from his provider. The network security is weak due to the age of the router so unless he swaps it be careful of what information you place in your devices. I know this isn't the best place to be, but I'm happy and thankful to be here. The customer service and friendliness he provides makes up for the shortcomings he is able to provide that other hotels do. I will add another review on my last day telling folks how our extended stay went.
