Extended Stay America Suites Minneapolis Airport Mendota Heights

Really clean my room, I really enjoyed my stay right there, staff really friendly, the location really close to the airport, we went couple of time to the mall America it was just 8 minutes away from the hotel. Definitely i will come back there.

Unacceptable Treatment and Excessive Charges, non LGBTQ friendly Edit: never recieved credit as mentioned below in the manager/owner comment. We tried to make a reservation. Add on lies to this list. Honestly, was hoping to edit this review to a more positive one but now I can't take our stay as anything other than transphobic at this point. ____ Review of Extended Stay America - Minneapolis - Airport - Mendota Heights Reviewed 1 week ago I strongly advise against staying at this hotel if you are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Upon arrival, we noticed scuffed walls but attributed it to the low cost of the room. The next morning, we were abruptly woken up and asked to move rooms due to a leak. We complied without issue. In the second room, a single vape hit from my partner triggered the smoke alarm. The downstairs attendant came up and accused us of smoking. We explained it was just one vape hit, there are no sign and the contracts say nothing about vaping but he continued to yell at us before finally leaving. We then discovered the TV was not working. When we called the front desk for assistance, the same attendant arrived with an attitude and a smoke spray (never used bc it didn't smell), again accusing us of smoking and other damages. He then charged us $270 for "smoking," despite the extended stay contract clearly stating the smoking penalty would not exceed $250. He moved us to a third room as he couldn't fix the TV. The third room halls smelled of dog urine, but we managed to sleep through it. The next morning, when we were getting dressed a hose keeper walked in to see us naked! No knocking, just walked in. After calming down, I went to the front desk to dispute the $270 charge (to the contract of $250) and was shocked to find we had been charged an additional $519, plus the $250 smoking fee. This brought our total to $1,250 for a $211 room. While we accepted the $250 smoking fee as our mistake, the additional charges were unfounded. Despite assurances of a refund, we never received one and had to dispute the charges through our bank. I am now broke until I get paid next or the dispute comes through. They over charged my card giving me a overdraft fees also! The treatment we received was highly unprofessional and discriminatory. Being falsely accused of multiple issues and overcharged due to one vape hit was unacceptable. There were no signs indicating a no-vaping policy, nor was it mentioned in the contract. I strongly urge others to avoid this hotel to avoid similar mistreatment and exorbitant charges. Save yourself the trouble and frustration.

My stay here has been fantastic! The hotel is very clean and the general manager, Austin is great. I have had a few minor things that needed to be fixed after I let him know, he saw to it that the issues were resolved in a timely fashion. The location is great, it's a couple of exits away from the airport and the Mall of America.

Austin and his staff have been wonderful. The hotel is conveniently located fairly close to the airport, mall of America, Eagan outlets.. ect. My overall experience has been great abd I recommend this hotel to all. Breakfast was all prepackaged but I expected that for the low price.

NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! Took over 30 minutes for on call clerk to open and check us in. Lobby and elevator were dirty. Our newly remodeled room had broken slats on the blinds, the trim work was falling off. Next morning, there was a cockroach in the bathroom, and when I went to shower, I forgot a wash cloth, and stepped out of the tub to grab one. When I went to step back in, there was a black footprint in the tub and on the shower mat. We were to stay 3 days, but on the advice of Customer Relations, we checked out early and I had to contact the manager to get a refund of 2 days. I finally reached him on June 23 and he agreed to refund my 2 nights. It has been almost 2 weeks, and still no refund. If you have any doubts about my criticisms, check out the pictures below.
