Detroit Metro Airport Marriott

I booked this location when I was traveling out to work in Detroit. It was very comfortable, clean, and had a few cool amenities like the concierge lounge. The restaurant food was good and the building was quieter than I expected being so close to the airport.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the coast few years. Always have used the Park and Fly with Airlines parking. Unfortunately they have changed this now and no longer use them but have you park at the hotel while you are gone. Our reservation did not indicate this change so we dropped our car off at Airlines Parking and were shuttled over to the Marriott. We would have to pay my twice now. Luckily, check in just was kind enough to change our rate to room only so not to be double charged. Leaving your vehicle at the hotel without security is not a good idea. Service at the bar was almost non existent. Service has gone downhill at this property unfortunately. We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on due to this parking change.

The hotel and staff and food were all pretty good, but we had a very negative experience with the hotel shuttle. We arrived at DTW early in the morning and attempted to get a shuttle to the hotel. We were at the ground transportation area and I phoned the hotel at 1:22 AM, 1:36 AM, and 1:53 AM. We were finally picked up around 2:10 AM. The hotel is only a 5 min drive from the airport. I would have taken a cab had I known how long my wife and I would have to wait. The hotel was clean and quiet and we had a terrific breakfast. Because of our experience with the shuttle, I don't think I'll be staying here again.

Very much for me a transit hotel, booked for a flight from Detroit to Dallas then on to Australia. The shuttle to the airport at 5am in the morning was spot on time and the driver was very helpful . Hotel food was mediocre but it was enough to satisfy a hungry traveller. Will definitely fly out of Detroit and use this hotel again .

Had a one night business visit where this hotel was the most convenient given the travel arrangements and meetings. The staff was great. The restaurant had a very limited menu, suggesting a kitchen issue. Rooms were a bit run down and not updated. An update is really needed. Old carpet. Cracking paint and caulk. Found toe or finger nails on the carpet between the beds, suggesting lacking or under-resourced cleaning crew. Not a recommendation. Needed investments to upgrade to the minimum standard of this brand of Marriott.
