Super 8 by Wyndham Mackinaw City Beachfront Area

My husband and I decided to take a trip after he was in the hospital for 21 days. I was totally disappointed with this hotel, the cleanliness and how dated it was compare to the pictures on the website, the shower head was dirty and moldy, the wallpaper pealing the wood frame around the main door falling apart. The Spider webs inside the light over the shower. I let the person at the front desk and she acted like no big deal, I should have told her as soon as I found out about it. So she would have upgraded it the room. My opinion is that every room should be clean and well maintained.

The light would not turn off had to unplug it.The dust and dirt was on the bases heating.the floor was dirty.Tape on the screen,holes in balcony carpeting.Need good cleaning and repairs.They also charge more than other hotels for pet fee.

Breakfast was only granola bars and fresh coffee. Bogo breakfast buffet across street was ok - cost $22 for 2 (without drinks). Beach front was great with clean sand and shallow for walking / wading. Good chairs and tables to use. Indoor heated Swim pool was open, but no hot in or sauna working. Sadly. Room was clean. But AC was super loud motor. Bring ear plugs.

Ice cold shower in pool facility, dirt under sink and tub did not look like it was cleaned. No breakfast, only coffee and granola bar. Rating 2 because staff were friendly.

Our room was on the 2nd floor with a small lanai overlooking the beach, which is RIGHT THERE. (The screen door was a bit battered, could be replaced in room 216) The floor was laminate, which looked nice and is easy for them to clean. The room and beds were clean, the bathroom is small and a bit dated but still fine. The pool and hot tub were clean, perfect after a long day on the island. The staff were incredibly courteous and professional. Would stay here again, great place for an affordable price.
