Holiday Inn Express Houghton Keweenaw an IHG Hotel

The room had a mini-fridge with small freezer compartment and it also had a microwave. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo. Despite the anti-slip surface on the tub, it was still a little slippery. Fortunately there was a safety grab bar available. Showerhead was adjustable. Water pressure was okay. The hotel backs right up against a very large hill so the view from the room is just that...a large hill of dirt and rocks. If you want more of a view, ask for a room facing the front of the property. The hotel had a guest laundry with one washer and one dryer. Cost was $2 in quarters for the washer, $2 in quarters for the dryer. Laundry was open 24 hours. The hotel also had a small market. They offered a complimentary breakfast and complimentary parking. Front desk staff was professional but not particularly personable.

Enjoyable stay. The hotel and rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff were super helpful! There was a pool for the kids to spend some time in. Really everything we wanted or needed! An enjoyable play to spend the night while exploring the Keweenaw peninsula!

Overall this is a nice property and a good value. The room was clean and beds were comfortable and air flow good and there was plenty of space for us and our suitcases. Got what I requested too...quiet side of hotel and not near an elevator. There was a helpful white board with restaurant recommendations too. The staff even phoned to alert me, just shortly after we'd checked out and moved on to our next city, that I'd forgotten a nightlight in the wall plug. In my book this is excellent customer service and it was really appreciated! One thing I would suggest is more frequent cleaning of the elevator interior doors, buttons and front panel. I would definitely recommend the property to others.

Great room with a fridge, tub, TV - all the comforts of home. The surprise was in the housekeeping - not what I would have wanted. The beds weren't made, nor were the surfaces cleaned each day. I guess this is the new-normal that housekeeping doesn't happen every day. Using this hotel in the future, I'd be tempted to make separate bookings for each day so that we always got a fresh room.

One of the best Holiday Inns out there. We had the family suite which includes a separate area with bunk beds for the kids. Brilliant design for parents that want to stay up later or watch their own tv. The staff is also one of the best out there. From housekeeping, breakfast, front desk, general manager, everyone was very kind. The pool area was always clean and had a wonderful sauna to enjoy. We enjoyed our stay very much.
