There is an Historic portion and a modern tower. We visited a suite in the tower but stayed in the Historic portion. Comfortable room, nothing spectacular. It did seem like the walls were maybe a bit extra thin. We sleep with a noise machine so we didn't have any problems. Close to the Convention center and attractions.

The Suites are huge! The Amway has good food and fun stuff to do, if there is an event at Devos Place I highly recommend going to it. Very nice view from some of the rooms of the Grand River and Downtown Grand Rapids. Chance to see helicopters fly in at the Marriott across the street

When you walk in, the opulence makes you think you are in a top of the line hotel. Our room was comfortable. The shower was super wimpy at best, and there was no fan in the bathroom. There was not a refrigerator in the room and no ice bucket. Better signage is definitely needed to help customers know how to use the skywalk and how to get to the pool, etc. Guests get a $5.00 a night credit if they decline cleaning services however, you have to use the credit at a hotel restaurant daily, or you lose the credit. The credits do not accumulate. I guess you could use it for the bottles of water that are in the room for $3.00 a piece. I did not inquire about that. The location is very convenient. My most valuable advice is that no matter where you stay, go to Max's South Seas Hideaway tiki bar.

Met with family who just became engaged to celebrate. Didnāt have to leave the hotel at all. Had dinner at The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck. Went to a speakeasy for a drink. Went Duck pin bowling, and finished off the night at a whiskey bar. The room was clean and nice. Great view. Had no idea Grand Rapids was actually kinda cool. Again, didnāt even leave the hotel.

Not worth the money charged! Booked a king bed room at over $300 per night and prepaid for parking and breakfast. On arrival observed that the posted daily parking garage fee was less than what the hotel was charging me. Asked for a river view room and was told I could have one for an additional $250 dollars. Went to the room and found out the two bottles of off brand water in the room were $3 each. Went out to a dinner and show and returned at 930 PM. Hotel store was closed. We spent the next 30 minutes trying to find a working ice machine and vending machine to purchase drinks and snacks. We were told by staff that they were switching venders so there were not many vending machines in the hotel. We were sent to 2 different floors to look for the machines and were told to report if they were not there so the front desk could update their records of available vending machines. Then we were told that we could buy snacks and sodas at a grocery store down the street. Not fun walking in the rain, past the street people smoking weed. Bed was not firm it was hard and uncomfortable. Coffee pods in the room made highly diluted coffee. Woke the next day and attempted to get the prepaid breakfast. One of the two restaurants was closed for the day and the other did not have the full advertised menu. Food was not good and the bill was less than the prepaid amount. When I questioned the charge, I was told by the front desk clerk no adjustment would be made. Manager heard the conversation and asked me if I wanted compensation. I advised her that I did not want compensation but wanted her to know that I had much better service and amenities at hotels charging less. There is more to report but I am running out of available characters so I will leave it read the other reviews and DIDO to most of the comments. Stay somewhere else. This hotel is charging a lot and proving less than less expensive hotels in the area.
