Baymont by Wyndham Chelsea

Hotel is not clean. Room was never prepared for our arrival. No attendant service each morning to clean up the room. The choices for breakfast were pityful. This is not a recommended hotel. Very surprised that Wyndham has this hotel under their banner.

Stain in bathtub means water sat without draining for a long time. Electrical outlet missing cover. Dirt accumulation on hair dryer warning tag has also occurred over a long period of time with being wiped off. Attention to detail horrible for the price paid. This is at best a $100/night hotel, not $250.

We stayed at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Chelsea, Mi this past Thurs night to attend our niece's wedding as they had supposedly set aside a block of rooms for family and quests. This hotel is absolutely the filthiest hotel we have every stayed in. Besides the mold in the shower, the filthy bathtub surface, peeling paint on the ceiling, filthy countertops and the full Damp Rid Bag, we found out that the groom's father, mother, brother and sister-in-law and their young kids had to move rooms at 1:30 AM because of bed bugs. I had to clean the bathroom before we could use it. When we complained about the condition of the room and the entire hotel we were yelled at and told we were being thrown out because we had a bad attitude. I should have looked at the Trip Advisor reviews that complain about the filth and bed bugs as recent as this past August... I stopped reading them after I saw the same complaints back to Aug of 2023... But because our niece's invite said she had arranged a block of rooms for family and friends I didn't. We checked out Fri am... And stayed with family that made room for us in the Bed and Breakfast they were at. I woke up on Sunday with bed bug bites...now on RX Benadryl and steroidal cream. I know that the groom's family are reporting the issue to you . I have contacted the County Health Dept, The City of Chelsea Code Enforcement, Better Business Bureau Chamber of Commerce and the county of Washtenaw who advised me to fill out a County Housing Sanitation Complaint I find it hard to believe that this hotel has not been closed down by the health department . I now have to have our luggage fumigated and our condo treated as well as I have to deal with the bites . PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND SHUT THEM DOWN BEFORE ANY OTHER GUESTS HAVE TO ENDURE WHAT WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH NOW!!! You need to read the reviews on Trip Advisor and Goggle The Groom's parents as well as us are members of Wyndham and we are making complaints to them as well. Please advise as to how you will proceed with this complaint and actions you will take against this hotel. Nancy Tangredi

We attended a family wedding in Chelsea and booked a room at the Baymont to be close to the reception. This hotel was very dated for the cost-- the carpets were worn, our bathroom sink was cracked, and there was mold growing in our shower. Extras in the room also appeared to be quite minimal-- 1 washcloth for a four person occupancy, no soap dish, no hooks to hang wet towels, no usb outlets, ect. While our room appeared to be fairly clean, relatives of ours had bed bugs in their room the night prior-- it was hard to sleep thinking about their experience and wondering if they could be in our room too. After taxes and fees, we paid $220 for one night. For the cost, I expect more.

This was absolutely the grossest hotel I’ve ever booked. The online images were a blatant lie. It smelled so bad like wet mold and the overall energy of the parking lot and building were very sketchy. This is not a hotel. It’s an apartment building that people live in and you feel very out of place checking in as a hotel guest. We were not given the type of room we were lead to believe we booked online. It was so bad that I elected not to drink at the wedding we attended and we opted to immediately leave and drive an hour and a half home because the hotel was so nasty. I wish I would have read the reviews first. Huge waste of money.
