Holiday Inn Express Marshall an IHG Hotel

Beautiful hotel, nice rooms, and comfy bed. That's where the good stops. Was woke up at 530am by children jumping, running, screaming, and slamming above us. My alarm was to go off at 9am and I have been up for HOURS! Absolute worst stay at a Holiday Inn YET! Going to the manager Skylar, she initially told me she could only credit me with points for my lack of a decent night's sleep! Eventually she credited me $20 for our ruined nights sleep. It should be hotel policy to keep mass amounts of children towards the lower levels so other guests can get the rest they paid for also! Absolute garbage.

This is the best hotel experience I've had in a long time! The staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary water was great. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options! The cinnamon rolls were yummy. I will definitely be returning!

I had a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Marshall, MI, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations. From check-in to check-out, everything went smoothly and comfortably. The hotel is conveniently located right off the highway, making it easy to find and a perfect stop for anyone traveling through the area. It’s close to downtown Marshall, with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. If you're looking for a quiet, convenient place to stay, this location hits the mark. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-equipped. I stayed in a king room, which had a large, comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. The desk area was perfect for getting some work done, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. I especially appreciated the mini-fridge and microwave, which are always a nice touch for convenience. The hotel offers a lot of great perks, starting with the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast spread was impressive—hot options like scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes, along with a variety of pastries, cereals, and fresh fruit. The coffee was always fresh, and the staff kept everything stocked and clean. The fitness center was small but well-maintained, and I also had access to the indoor pool. I didn’t have a chance to use it during my stay, but it looked like a great spot to relax.

Absolute horrible stay. First, walk in and find someone else’s ice cream in my fridge. Fridge, obviously hadn’t been cleaned from the last guest. Food and crumbs on the carpet all around the bed, Microwave sounded like a plane taking off. Oh, and breakfast, or the lack of. No coffee, no bacon… etc etc .. I’ve stayed at many HIE, and this definitely rates very low.

General Manager Dawson, MaKenna customer service skills would be described as lacking, subpar, distasteful, and disrespectful. Payment processing issues are easily handled by simply using the original credit card provided. Communication is key when dealing with the public. Someone please notify Ms. Dawson of this fact. Re re training perhaps would help. Horrible representation of the Holiday Inn Express as a whole.
