Bethesda Marriott

Stayed here because I was attending a function at the hotel. It’s an old Marriott, and despite efforts to update it, the age shows. Common areas were pretty beat up. Ceilings low. Lobby and rooms dark. AC in room sounded like a jet engine. The updates aren’t great. Instead of a dresser, there is a closet insert with two small drawers. Barn door in the bathroom offers only limited privacy. The location is convenient to 495 if you are driving, but if you don’t have a car, you’re stuck with shuttles or Uber if you want to go anywhere. The location is not walkable. Parking lot exit never recognized my key card, so I had to call for help every time I wanted to leave, which was a nuisance. I visited the front desk three times to address the issue but it was never resolved.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Bethesda Marriott property on March 1. I ended up checking in around midnight and had the pleasure of meeting Philip who is absolutely amazing during the check-in process. I had an issue with my room and his service recovery was absolutely beautiful. He didn’t make my issue seem small but was beyond helpful, understanding, empathetic, and was just overall hospitable. Sisi and Paulette were also amazing during breakfast and are an absolute pleasure. 10/10 Even if I didn’t come for the property, I would come because the great customer service person.

We chose this hotel as it was very close to the places we planned to go to. It is located just off of I495, which made it very convenient for us. The rooms we had were very comfortable and had a nice, airy feel and vibe to them. The desk was a bit on the small side, but that was really the only thing to quibble about. The restaurant had very good food offerings throughout the day, and we were pleased with the entrees and food selections. The M Club lounge was a nice place to get work done and relax, with beverages and snacks available pretty much any time of the day. And the fitness center is one of the best we’ve seen at any hotel. It is spacious with lots of options for weights and cardio. Summed up, we were very pleased with our stay here at the Bethesda Marriott. We would happily stay here again in the future.

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary to go to DC and do some sight seeing. It was within walking distance to the train station. Room was clean and modern. Staff were nice and we went to the hotel restaurant once. They had good food and service. I would stay here again if i I was traveling to D.C..

Parama was the most helpful and professional front desk agent we had the pleasure to work with at the hotel. She graciously took care of our all concerns such as our room, extra blankets, and wake-up call which made our stay very pleasant. Thank you Parama, you are a gem!
