The good: 1. Location was perfect for events in Sudbury 2. Lobby area offered comfortable couches to relax in with family 3. Easy, free parking The bad: 1. WiFi didn’t work the entire 2-days we stayed there, the front desk acted surprised but wasn’t sure how to reboot the router after we asked them to try. Then another guest walked in and asked if they had fixed the WiFi yet - which told us they certainly knew about the issue. One of the nights the front desk private WiFi wasn’t working either so check in was a disaster for guests. 2. The smells. The elevator reeked of stale cigarette smoke the entire time and the hallways reeked of a cheap scent to cover up an even worse smell - nauseating actually. 3. The bed. The bed was among the worst I’ve ever experienced. It was hard and cheap but also slanted ridiculously towards the floor. One side of the bed must have sloped 4” down from the other wide of the bed. I woke up sore and tired, and only got a few hours of sleep each night. Upgrade that awful mattress in 320! 4. Overall wear and tear. The first room we checked into had a broken door, so we had to move rooms. 5. Staffing. The staff didn’t sit at the front desk even during regular hours so you had to wait for help. And there only ever seemed to be 1 person working. Due to WiFi issues, I had to wait about 15 minutes while the staff struggled to check in the guest in front of me. It was frustrating because I had a simple request. She knew I was already checked in so I wish she’d acknowledged me to see what I needed rather than making me wait when the systems were obviously down and it was going to take awhile to get the other guest checked in. 6. Did I mention the WiFi? We were not able to work, as planned, the hotel doesn’t seem to care. Don’t stay there if you need WiFi to work remotely. I saw another review suggest that Marriott audit this property and I agree. It seems to be in a death spiral. I know Fairfield’s aren’t meant to be fancy but this one was substandard even at the level expected of a Fairfield Inn.

We stay here every time we visit family in Sudbury - if rooms are available. It is so convenient, clean, and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is also decent. This last stay, the staff went above and beyond for me - my night guard slipped out of my fingers after I grabbed it, and I heard it fall under/behind the bed. They had to wait for a few days for the room to empty, and when it did, they took the bed apart and found it. I am so grateful! Thank you to the Fairfield Inn Sudbury staff!!!

was going to be in town for multiple days for work and chose this hotel based on local recommendations. although it does appear nice the entire facility, despite a recent makeover, needs another one. It does show signs of age which is fine, but especially up on the third floor where my room was assigned should probably be a full gut rehab. Apparently several years ago there was a water main break on that third floor and the smell of mold and mildew has not completely gone away, and the properties attempt to cover it up with some type of chemical isn't working. in fact when I mentioned the smell to the front desk person, she offered me " a machine " to help offset the issue, noting that "it's an old building" and "we get that complaint a lot". The failure to completely address it calls into question their commitment to guest safety. Moreover, the hotel is actually two buildings and if you happen to get put on to the second or third floor in the building furthest from the front desk you'll be bringing your luggage up stairs instead of using an elevator because there is only one in the building... or so I was told. I don't know if Marriott properties are audited by corporate, but in my opinion this location should be checked on and does not in my experience meet the standards of the Marriott brand. The one staff person that I encountered was nice and seemingly kind so the service was not an issue. I was unwilling to sleep in a potentially unhealthy environment and so chose to seek other accommodations however was still charged for one night's stay in accordance with their cancellation policy. As an aside, I was only offered other third floor rooms, which I refused. Many people seem to have a good experience here, and I'm not sure how, perhaps they are never introduced to the third floor, but I would consider other properties far before this one.

Horrible Experience - I wish I could go lower!! I became very ill on the way to the airport, called the hotel that morning to cancel. I am Titanium Elite member. The General Manger told me that he would 'not allow me' cancel my room because it was too late. I told him about my status and he said he didn't care. Steer clear of this nightmare!!!
