The Porches Inn at Mass MoCA

I always love coming to Porches because everything is so thoughtfully done - it is simultaneously luxurious and quaint. The museum is lovely, the hiking is excellent, and the complimentary breakfast is very high quality. It's how I discovered my favorite brand of granola!

Can't beat the location if you're in North Adams for MASS MOCA. Rooms are still cozy with vintage touches and clawfoot tubs. But this once special spot is not as warm and caring as it used to be. Staff is not welcoming and the new $20 + tax daily resort fee is hardly worth it.

My husband and I braved driving from Greenfield to North Adams in March to enjoy an anniversary Monday at Mass MOCA and a cosy night at The Porches. Great idea! Yes there was snow and a temperature drop from 39 in Greenfield to 30 at the top of the mountain in Florida and sleet and snow plows on the way down but totally worth it! We are regulars at The Porches and we had a wonderful time. Thank you to Brittany, Stephanie and Sunny for welcoming us and providing tea in the afternoon, a towel for the pool and early coffee in the morning. Not to mention a fantastic breakfast! We are so pleased that the inn is recovering from COVID with the new breakfast room and expanding studio space. I agree with everyone who loves the decor, the history, the efficiency and the attention to details - like pegs for hanging things, clear instructions for the TV and minibar, spacious bathrooms, a shower cap! extra pillows etc etc. The pool was warm, the hot tub hot, the bed comfortable and our room ( in the back) very quiet. Some restaurants not open on Monday nights- so check! We had a delicious dinner at the Freight Yard Pub- excellent beer, entrees, service.

Porches Inn is in North Adams Massachusetts is a very unique spot within walking distance of Mass MOCA and the entire complex. My husband and I spent two nights visiting. We enjoyed the hot tub in the pool as the pool is heated to 80° and the hot tub to 110°. The breakfast was really lovely and everyone we met who worked there was friendly and helpful. It was also nice to be with driving distance of Williamstown and Shelburne Falls.

What an incredible Inn. My daughter and I stayed for the weekend and had a blast. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The beds are comfy and the staff were incredible! The pool, sauna and hot tub were great! Colin had excellent recommendations and was very helpful.
