I want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on Peter at AutoCamp Hilton for the truly outstanding service he provided during my recent stay. As a mother traveling solo with a toddler, the journey can be equal parts magical and exhaustingâbut Peter went above and beyond to make sure we felt not only welcomed, but genuinely cared for. From the moment we arrived, Peter showed an incredible level of attentiveness and kindness. He took the time to connect with us in a personal and thoughtful way, making me feel supported and seenâsomething thatâs rare and deeply appreciated when youâre managing everything on your own. His attention to detail and proactive care transformed our stay from a simple trip into a memorable, comforting experience. While I wonât share every gesture (some things are best left between a guest and a great host), I will say that his efforts spoke volumes about the caliber of service and heart he brings to his role.

We were so looking forward to the long weekend. I am not a camper but the kids had been asking. When I found what looked like carefree glamping, I thought it was perfect. Check in time is later - 4 p.m. - but I thought we'd at least get the chance to walk the grounds and hang out. When we got there we couldn't find a parking space anywhere so we drove up to the front of the clubhouse and there was a large wedding reception. We literally walked into someone's wedding reception with our luggage. It was so loud we couldn't hear any details from the front desk. We grabbed our keycards and were bummed to see that the entire clubhouse and lawn were taken by the wedding. This is a big part of their advertisement. The space doesn't lend itself to hosting a function like that and not having it be at the expense of the guests not attending the wedding. An earlier check-in or some sort of acknowledgment you were being cheated would've gone a long way in the hospitality dept. We got to our airstream which was clean and in a good spot. However, we were sparse on any extras - cookware, flatware, outdoor lights (no latern), matches. As I mentioned - not a camper and this felt like you still needed to bring everything so what am I paying a premium for? The wedding was also super loud so we spent the first night inside our very crammed quarters. Didn't hear much after 10 though so it was an early shutdown. When I made the reservation I asked if the pull out would fit two kids and was told that would be fine. It was incredibly tight and uncomfortable. It's a very small, thin lean back which leaves a big space right down the middle which we stuffed with towels. The bathrooms are large and modern. The water pressure is better than I anticipated for a campground. The next day there was granola, tea, coffee and cocoa with other items available for purchase. At around $450/nt I think a big tub of granola is a bit sad. A toaster with bread or yogurt to go with the granola would've looked like at least some effort was made for the cost. Overall, a cute idea that looks great for your social photos but not at all worth the price. And, the space simply doesn't lend itself to having a large function that overtakes all of the common areas.

We decided to try something different. We read about Autocamp Cape Cod in a magazine and decided to check it out. Unfortunately, we booked the same days there was a large wedding party at the location. We stayed for two days, and during both days, the air was filled with wood fire smoke from a pizza truck ordered in by the wedding party. That was in addition to the campfires already burning at the campsite. My wife had to use her asthma inhaler while there. The Airstream we stayed in appeared at first sight to be as portrayed in the magazine. However, once we got our items situated in the camper, we noticed we were sharing space with spiders. Not just one or two, but at least a dozen spiders were either removed or met their demise during our stay. We almost brought one home as it was inside of a bag of bedding we brought with us. Now, onto the mold. Once we were ready to call it a night, we discovered mold on all of the window coverings in the bedroom. We called immediately and complained. My wife had to sleep on the uncomfortable sofa in the main area of the camper because she is allergic to mold. If the spiders and the mold weren't enough, we returned to the camper after a day out and found all electricity out throughout the campsite except for the tent being used by the wedding party and the front desk area. There was a latern for our use; however, it did not work. We called to exchange it and were told to come to the front desk to get another. After walking in the darkness to the front desk, we were told they were all out of lanterns. Needless to say...this was one of the most disappointing vacation locations I've ever experienced.

We were made to feel really welcome by the AutoCamp staff. Our airstream caravan was newly renovated and very clean and comfortable. It would have been useful to know in advance that there is no hob / cooker in the kitchen area, just a microwave / combi oven. We were a bit surprised that no charcoal or firewood was provided - you could buy a bag of wood in the camp shop but it was expensive so bring some with you if you intend to use the fire pit. The free breakfast (granola and hot drinks) in the clubhouse was a nice touch but the food we ordered on our first evening was disappointing, particularly the macaroni cheese. The pizzas were a bit better. We enjoyed the live music on Wednesday evening in the clubhouse, a great local singer / songwriter called Shannon Davis. They donât have a liquor licence but you are welcome to take your own alcoholic drinks.

We were intrigued about the Autocamp properties and had an opportunity to stay at Autocamp Cape Cod for a wedding in which all of the Airstreams were reserved. It was a great time, and there were events up at the "clubhouse" which is very modern and stylish. The camper is very new and customized, with very cold A/C which was welcomed as it has been very hot and humid this summer. The bathroom was impressively large and has a walk in shower. There are some kitchen amentities but honestly we did not want to make the environment smell like cooking implements, it is that nice. There is a refrigerator, sink and burners. Coffee maker was confusing but they do have coffee at the clubhouse. We would stay again!
