Stayed here for 5 days and staff never cleaned our room. Family of 5. No magnet was put outside so we wanted it cleaned. I complained to the front desk, they apologized and said they let the manager know and we would hear something back. Left yesterday and havnt heard anything. Also had an issue with the water temperature as it was Luke warm but if someone showered up stairs, it was cold down stairs. So one day I didn't even get to shower. They sent someone to fix it at some point after we left for the day. The beds were king size but very hard, making it hard to sleep from tossing and turning all night. Definitely need softer mattresses! I was upset we couldn't use the fire place, not sure why but there was a sign on it to not use. The breakfast was good and probably the best thing about this place. It was clean when we first arrived, but over all for the price and what we experienced I wouldn't stay here again. It is about 25 minutes from Salem but if you can, stay at the Hawthorne in the middle of Salem. The food is wonderful and for the same price, you don't have to travel.

This Residence Inn was ok but super over-priced. The pictures are kind of deceiving. It’s multiple buildings and each room has outside access. It’s very run down and located in a crappy area behind a Costco parking lot and right next to a highway. If you’re going to Salem it’s not a bad drive but expect it to take much longer than it should because of traffic. We had a 1 bedroom suite and the layout was really odd. The bathroom is so small you can barely step in to it and close the door. The way the bed is situated makes it hard for anyone else to sleep if someone uses the bathroom/vanity area. Staff seemed nice, just not really what I was hoping for for $500 a night.

I selected this hotel because it was conveniently located to the things our family wanted to do on our vacation (whale watching, Boston, day trip to Salem), and could comfortably sleep our family of 5. Two king beds and a pull-out sofa, a full kitchen, and two full bathrooms sold us. The daily breakfast was great with tons of options. There are laundry facilities and an outdoor pool. My kids played basketball. There's a Costco right next door! We picked up food/water to tailgate at Gillette Stadium. If you're sensitive to light and noise, bring earplugs and a mask. There was a bright light on the stairs that we covered with a couch pillow. The sheets get loose; the pillows are lumpy. The A/C frequently clicks on and off. Not deal-breakers by any means. For the money, location, and amenities (as well as a lovely staff), you can't go wrong.

This property consists of several small separate buildings, each two stories, with 8 units in each building. The buildings do not have elevators, so if you have a lot of luggage either specify a ground floor unit or plan to lug your luggage upstairs. Even the ground floor units in some buildings require climbing a few stairs. The suites themselves are spacious but austere, and the layout was odd but functional. The full kitchen included a full-size fridge with an icemaker, but there is no ice machine available for guests – if you need ice, the front office manager can get it for you from the kitchen. Breakfast in the lobby building was good, perhaps a little better than average for a place like this. Why anyone thought it was a good idea to build separate units in Boston’s climate is beyond me – it was OK to have to walk outside to the breakfast room in October, but it wouldn’t be OK in January! The biggest problem with this place is the road noise, as it sits between I-95 to the east, US 1 to the west, and Andover Street to the north, with heavy traffic on all three. You can try to get a room in a building near the middle of the property, but all the buildings are close to one or the other of these roads.

This hotel was very clean and staff was super friendly. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom/2 bathrooms suites and it was very comfortable. The breakfast was also very good and had several different options throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.
