Built in 1716 and operated as a hotel since 1889 the inn has 56 rooms in the main building as well as two separate cottages. Each room is unique with hardwood floors exposed beams and period details that include antiques and reproductions. Unifying features include cable TV with HBO coffeemakers phones with voicemail and free newspapers. Suites and extended-stay units may include an additional bedroom separate living/dining area fully equipped kitchen and a jetted tub. Non-smoking rooms and Wi-Fi are available. The inn's Liberty Restaurant and Village Forge Tavern offer pub fare and live entertainment (choose a seat on the porch overlooking the square) and Merchant's Row offers gracious fine dining. Each serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Parking is available. This inn is five miles off I-95. Historians rejoice: it's less than a half-mile from the North Bridge where the shot heard 'round the world was fired. It's also a mile from Minuteman National Park seven miles from Lexington Green and two miles from serene Walden Pond inspiration for Henry David Thoreau. Boston's city center is 25 miles away and Logan International Airport is 27 miles away.
