We stayed 2 nights in Room #528. We were in the area for the Littleton Class of 1974 50th reunion, which was held at a country club nearby in North Chelmsford. We arrived just after 1 p.m. and were told that check-in wasn't until 3 p.m. I mentioned my Diamond status, and our room was ready in less than 5 minutes! Our room was on the top floor and the next to end room. Since this is not an HIE "& Suites", there were no "suite" upgrades, but we liked our room, which was quiet most of the time. We also had a view of my other half's 1st Chinese restaurant around 1970, the Hong & Kong, which is still open. We did takeaway on our 2nd night and found it very tasty, old-time Chinese food with many decently priced choices on the menu. They inserted a card in my key holder which showed Diamond Elite benefits. All applicable ones (didn't use reward nights, for example) were honored including bottled water at check-in. Breakfast was better than most HIE's, most of which are very good. Sunday's was from 7-10:30 and included turkey sausage, western omelets, scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, corned beef hash, and more, including the tasty-looking cinnamon rolls, which I avoid because of the sugar. Monday's was from 6-9:30 and had bacon and pork sausage instead of corned beef hash and western omelets. Both mornings, of course, there was the pancake machine (they also had sugar-free syrup)! They even had 2 areas for Diamond member parking. We always used the one closest to the back entrance next to the curb. Check-out was quick with amount expected. Everyone was friendly from start to finish (including front desk, breakfast staff, and housekeepers on the 5th floor. This is definitely on our list when we're back in the area! The area is not too bad despite the closed place next door, which appears is undergoing renovation?

Stayed at this hotel while in the area on business. It is just off I-495 but if coming from the south, making the left hand turn at the end of the ramp onto Independence Drive can be tough. The hotel is in a depressing area: a few strip malls around it with several empty units and a general run down feel. There is an closed down hotel beside the HIE which also leads to the run down feel of the area. There is a 110 Grill in the area that was open and OK for dinner. The hotel itself is fine. Check in was OK and the room was spacious and clean. Everything worked, the hotel was quiet but the bed a little soft for my liking. All in all, put the building in a nice area and you would have a fine property!

My husband was recovering from a broken hip and we needed to travel to the area to meet with his Dr. I knew it would be a long day, so planned to stay at a hotel overnight. I made a reservation on-line with the Chelmsford Holiday Inn Express including a special request for a room with a walkin shower. I explained my husband was currently handicapped. When we arrived, I went in to register and everything was arranged! The manager, Beth, came out of the back area to confirm she had read my request and wanted me to know if we needed anything, just ask. She had set up: - Handicapped room on the ground floor with a sitting room! No extra charge! - Walkin shower with bars, shower chair, and handheld shower - Room located very close to the handicapped parking and convenient side entrance so minimal walking required. - Access to ice machine for ice packs (pain management). The woman at the front desk was equally kind. The maintenance guy was reinforcing the shower bar when we entered the room and also reiterated: If you have any problem, just call. OMG. What a wonderful and much needed reception! It had been the day from hell, and the extra care was so much appreciated! We both just collapsed into bed and slept too tired to even think about dinner... The next morning, my husband had a long shower! The first since the hospital. With the shower seat and handheld showerhead -- he was SAFE. PLUS hot, steaming water that went on forever! He was in HEAVEN! I was treated to the wonderful complimentary breakfast: eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereals, breads, muffins, cinnamon rolls (yum!), yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, milk, juice... You name it, it was there! I did not need to cook OR clean up! It was all wonderful! I also made a plate for my husband (too far for him to walk) and he was delighted. At checkout, I asked to speak to the manager. I wanted to explain how much of a respite and gift this was for both of us, but I got too choked up, My eyes were briming with tears and I managed to croak out: "thank you" and had to stop. Beth hugged me. I don't know how she knew -- but she knew. Just amazing!
