The best thing about this place is the warm and friendly people who work here - especially Calvin and Wendy at the front desk. The atmosphere whenever you’re walking in or out is just so friendly and inviting, I really really appreciate it. Calvin was here on our first day for check in and he made sure we were comfortable right from the moment we walked in, even though it was a busy day for him. The rooms are impeccably clean, and with excellent views. I’m sure there’s also a lot going on behind the scenes also to make our stay so comfortable so a big thank you to the whole team and keep up the fabulous work.

We had a wonderful week at the AKA. Front desk staff were amazing (especially Calvin and Shirley) and they provided us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Breakfast in the hotel was great as well, including the staff! The front lobby was under renovation but had no impact on our stay. Central location for walking to many tourist activities and across the street from a subway stop when we needed it. Highly recommend!

Goddamn was Shirley was an absolute wonder to be serviced by. She courteous, friendly and her hospitality standards we beyond measure. If I am ever in the Boston area I know exactly where to stay because Shirley will always brighten up my day. More people need to be like Shirley.

The AKA Boston Common was a very comfortable stay, newly renovated, amazing location for exploring Boston! Everything was so walkable. The bed is super comfy, the eames chair is a dream. My only thing is there is no deadbolt on the door which made me uncomfortable. Also, for a true 5 star experience the staff could have been more helpful with check-in; I was clear I was open to receiving any available room, they said they would notify me when my room was ready. I decided to stop back in a little while later and ask again, turns out they did have a room and were able to check me in.
