Holiday Inn Express Waldorf an IHG Hotel

Pretty basic HIE. Clean and basic. Did have a minor issue at breakfast. The famous "Hot Cinnamon Buns" were all gone 45 minutes before the end of breakfast and almost all the hot item pans were empty. We asked the worker if more was due, and she said "whatever is out there is it." We mentioned this to the front desk, who was very upset at this response, and got them to make more food. Good location for stores and restaurants.

This was our 3rd stay here in the past 2 years as we have had great experiences with this place in the past. This stay was not as smooth. The staff was very friendly and helpful as always. However, the pool was closed for 3 days, which was upsetting when you travel with 2 families, 4 kids. One night we came back to our rooms and found our shower curtain missing. Due to the late hour, a new one could not be located so we had to shower without it until the next day. There were many small details like that which occurred. I did bring each issue to the attention of our staff and they tried to help each time. I did e-mail management after our trip, about the several issues we had. The management was very responsive and apologetic . I believe they just had a rough week with staff and guests and we just happen to stay that week. I would return here for sure as I don't believe this last stay was typical of their level of comfort. The rooms were still clean and the breakfast staff was very nice. This is a good place to stay if you have families.

I booked a night at this hotel for the sole purpose to use the pool. It was my daughter’s 11th birthday and she brought her two best friends. We tried using the pool but were unable to. We were told they were having a party. There was 20 kids in there, with one adult, who was NOT supervising. I get it, pools can get crowded. BUT they were OUT OF CONTROL! One of my daughters friends got hit with a football. The other had a kid thrown on top of her, which took her under. My three were huddled over in the deep end, by the ladder, unable to move around the pool. We left because it was unsafe. I went to speak to the front desk. Told her we didn’t want to stay and I wanted a refund. She apologized and said it’s not right and she’d contact the manager. She called me and said they could offer me some snacks! Hotels.com then contacted them on my behalf and they still refused to refund me!

This is a very dirty hotel. The lobby floors were disgusting and the elevators looked like they hadn’t been cleaned ever. When we were there 3 children came to the front desk dripping wet looking for towels. They left puddles; yet the check in never had someone clean it up. They just left it. Our king bed had a mattress that sagged in the middle! Do yourself a favor- stay somewhere else on the highway.

I stayed here the last time I was in the area and had no issues so I stayed again. I got a great rate and I was very happy once again with this property. I stayed on the third floor in 310, which is right near the stairs which I preferred because they are quicker than the elevator. The hotel was booked full all weekend and I never heard anyone in the halls or the other rooms at all which was really nice. The climate system worked great as it was 95+ all week. We had breakfast each morning and the food was fresh with plenty of selection and the staff was always friendly and said good morning. The desk clerk that I dealt with most of the time, Dominique, helped us with every request and was very friendly. The hotel was clean and the rooms were cleaned every day. I even left money for housekeeping on the nightstand, and they didn't take it. This alone showed me that their staff was honest. I will stay here again next year when I come back and I am very happy with the staff, location, and service here.
