Springhill Suites Gaithersburg

enjoyed the hotel - located right next to a busy area of Gaithersburg with restaurants and stores. The breakfast was a bit sketchy but we had bagels from the toaster. we only spent one night there. Originally we booked one room, but We had to get two rooms because the beds are very small - they are FULL beds but they actually looked more like large TWIN beds., not queens and you can't fit two people in these beds. We had three people in our party. BEDS ARE SMALL.

This hotel room is quite big and the cleanliness is good too. The amenities is only body soap, shampo and conditioner. No toothpaste and tooth brush. It has microwave at room that we can use. This place is operated by Marriott. The breakfast Breakfast is included but very simple, just 3 kinds of bread and oat porridge as well as coffee, milk and tea

Hotel was in a great location within walking distance of shops/restaurants. It was clean, quiet and the staff friendly. Breakfast came with the room… pretty standard fare but adequate. It was a busy weekend and they did keep replenishing the food/drink. Parking was adequate with no additional charge.

This is our go to hotel in the Gaithersburg area for many years. Made our reservation a month ahead of our dates at the Marriott web site which we usually find the best rates. A week ahead of time I checked again and noted the rates dropped so I canceled the first reservation and made another - saving $100. Check in was by Chantel. She was very friendly and hospitable at the check in. She used my name and recognized our Titanium status on Marriott Bonvoy. She asked for ID and a credit card and then explained we could have an item from the sundry area. She did well to explain housekeeping and the hours of breakfast and that coffee was available in the lobby until 7 pm daily. Our room 432 was nicely clean. No issues noted from a cleanliness perspective. The negative of the room is the old tub shower which was slippery; it is very difficult to read the bulk amenity containers; and the bed was not comfortable. I think the bed is in need of replacement. It was nice to have a mini fridge although one of my soda's froze up. Be sure to ask for a room that is not on the I270 side for quieter stay. Wifi worked great no issues although it did make me resign in a couple of days of our 5 night stay. We had housekeeping every day do a room refresh and it was done as requested with making the bed and new towels. Breakfast was fine but a bit boring. I was disappointed that this is one of few hotels that doesn't do waffles at breakfast. Scrambled eggs and sausage every day of our 5 night stay. They do offer bagels and English muffins but no toasting bread. Hot and cold cereal was offered, along with yogurts, hard cooked eggs, lots of toppings for cereals and a juice machine. The attendants at breakfast were all very hard working keeping the buffet stocked and tables cleared. It was very busy with tour buses and teams every morning. They should be commended for their hard work. We met a wonderful and hospitable person on the night shift, her name is Allison and she should be commended by management for her smile, and friendly way about her.

I'm a Gold Elite Marriott member and have stayed at dozens of their hotels over the years. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with any Marriott hotel. Myself and my 12 year old son stayed here for not even 12 hours, and I used a free night reward certificate. When I checked out, they emailed me the typical invoice and it shows a $0 balance, as it should with a free night. A few days later a charge of $150 shows up on my credit card. I've made multiple attempts to get someone at the hotel to explain what this charge is for. After getting nowhere, I called Marriott Corporate and they tell me it's because we damaged something. We did not. Again, we checked in, went to sleep, woke up and left. Minus sleeping in the beds and using the shower, the room was left exactly how we found it. If Marriott doesn't take care of this, I'll be calling my credit card company and reporting a fraudulent charge. The ironic part about that is that it's a Marriott rewards card. I'll never go back to this particular hotel again.
