Carmel Inn & Suites

The lavatory, shower, and toilet were plugged. Ceiling tiles in bathroom were falling. Entire ceiling in room was mildew. Dirt in every corner, EVERY corner! Sheets and towels were stained. Had to slam the door to make it latch. Even after we called the front desk about the plumbing, maintenance never came. Upon check-interest was no toilet tissue on the roll, not was there a backup roll. We have stayed at Carmel many times, but this was our last! I DO NOT recommend it!

IF I COULD GIVE THIS 0 STARS I WOULD!!! As soon as I walked in the room it smelled like a wet dog and the restroom looked as if there was pee on the walls. This place has no business operating as a hotel and should shut down immediately. Thank you to Hampton inn and suites for saving us. It is around five minutes away and has much better rooms and service than Carmel inn and suites.

We were in town for one night for a wedding. The first room we were given had a broken bed and wasn't attempted to be cleaned. The tile in the bathroom had been removed and the glue left behind was painted in an attempt to look like tile. Were given another room, which was also dirty! Hair on the floor in bathroom and in tub. Soap, shampoo and remote for A/C were stored in ice bucket (no plastic bag for ice) yuck!! The tv didn't work, Sink barely drained and leaked on the floor from a hole in the rusted pipe. We were told there were no other rooms available. Upon departure the next morning, we walked past rooms with curtains open and saw several rooms still made up, obviously not occupied! We were told breakfast was included from 6-9:30. We arrived at 9 and were told they weren't doing breakfast just cereal.

Do not stay here! It is extremely dirty and the room was gross! I walked in and didn’t stay more than 10 seconds. Found a new hotel immediately!! The photos on TripAdvisor are very outdated. The hotel was not kept up on and looks VERY different from what is shown online.

I have no idea how this place is rated #1 in Thibodaux. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because the gal at the desk gave me a full refund without making a fuss. We got in our room and immediately noticed it was filthy. Food in the floor, there was a sock between the mattress and headboard, something brown smeared on the bathroom door... Then my daughter found a chicken bone in the floor. We noticed there was no working smoke alarm. There was a giant hole in the wall that had been badly patched, it was awful. So I asked if we could move to another room, she said, "Oh that room wasn't cleaned this morning. I'm so sorry, take this other room." Well that's disgusting but ok. So we get in the other room and it did look cleaner at first glance but then we saw the huge roach under the bathroom sink so we were like NOPE. We left and drove 20 more minutes into Houma. If you're just looking for somewhere cheap to stay, pick one of the chains.
