Sonesta ES Suites New Orleans Downtown

Friendly welcome and our two bedroom suite was absolutely huge for a hotel suite! It is a bit dated, but that didn’t bother us, as there was so much space, and an excellent kitchen area. The location was good for walking to the French quarter. Rooms were clean, and beds comfortable.

Spend an extra few dollars and stay sonewhere better. Uninterested ladies at desk with no customer service skills. The young man there was the only person who was hepful. Despite booking for three people the pull out bed didn't have any bedding. In room phone doesn't work so had to go down to ask for bedding. We were treated like a real inconvenience and given a torn blanket, they did not have any pillows. The glass screen in the shower did not fit properly and water ran underneath and flooded the floor. I saw great reviews on the breakfast and went down at 8.35am (breakfast finishes at 9) to find practically nothing there - zero cooked items left. There was some cereal but they had completely ran out of milk. So for nearly $200 a night my daughter slept with a torn blanket and ate dry cereal.

We booked this hotel because of the price .. significantly lower than anything else nearby. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, but the staff was great, rooms were huge (we had a 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom suite for our group). Definitely could use some updates, but they were clean and exactly what we had expected. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast and got the job done. The kitchen in the rooms was a bonus. Great location...easy walking to everything we wanted to see. Bonus for Mardi Gras season ..short walk to the parades, but far enough out it was quiet and felt like an escape at night

Overall the stay was good, we were told at check in that because we were staying for 7nights/8 days our room would be cleaned once during our stay. They didn't ask what day we preferred them to clean so we just assumed they had a specific day. We were quite disappointed by this because we never had our room cleaned the entire time, we had to ask for clean towels and face clothes, and we had to bring down our garbage. Like I said though the overall stay was good it was just a shame they didn't come to change the sheets on our bed, clean the bathroom, or take out the garbage. We felt safe here, there is a police station across the street, a hospital nearby and transit is literally steps away. It however is exactly quiet, it can get quite loud at night(loud music from vehicles passing by and there was a gentleman yelling into a speaker phone thing) the rooms are definitely not sound proof. We also had to call the front desk to let them know the roof was leaking above the toilet. Turned out the people on the floor above us didn’t have the glass door on the shower shut all the way and the their floor was covered in water leaking into our bathroom. We were happy that someone looked into right away though, and we were super lucky we were there to notice it right away and not have to come back to a huge mess.
