Wonderful âoldâ hotel fully updated to modern standards. Very helpful and courteous staff. Located perfectly within the French Quarter. Short walk to the French Market, Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. Food, music and shopping surrounds this perfect location.

The best features are the location and the pillows. The pool was filthy, green with algae and dirt at the bottom. The lobby was often not staffed. The hallways and rooms (we stayed in two different rooms) smelled like an old musty motel with whiffs of dooby. It is very noisy, including the couple next door fighting in the hallway and slamming doors at 2am (which I guess comes with being in New Orleans during Quarterfest). There was no water pressure, the water is either cold or scalding (no in-between), and there were not enough towels for all three of us, even though our reservation was for three in the room. Won't be staying there again, and also think it's funny that this is a sister hotel to Montellione, who basically apologizes for each of the bad experiences posted by other people with similar reviews. Guys, it's time to update the charming old hotel!

I suspect the room price reflects the hotelâs presence in the French Quarter, but it seemed high for our room that seemed to match a Holiday Inn or Howard Johnsonâs room from the 1960âs. Our room on the 4th floor had a nice private balcony with high walls (so no view), but the room was dark and dated. The bed was perfectly comfortable and the marble bath was clean but tiny. Nice walk in closet. Very dated carpet, lamps, and furniture. It would have been fine at half the price. $45 per day parking charge.

Hotel has a great location, and nice sized rooms. There is a lot of street noise, and very little insulation from it with the balconies. The valet service was sadly slow even with plenty of notice. There is no real bar or and no breakfast service.
