Alder Hotel Uptown New Orleans

Great service as always! Room was nice and clean and staff were very nice. When I go to New Orleans, The Alder is my hotel of choice. The free parking is a plus. And an Uber to the Quarter is reasonably priced between $10-15. It’s worth it to not have the hassle of driving in the Quarter and trying to find parking.

Stayed here for 2 night before and after my cruise. I’m glad I did, I was close to lots of restaurants, French quarter, port canal mall , WW2 museum and riverwalk outlets It’s recently renovated and clean. Staff was great and always gave places to check out, restaurants, attractions or parades. Pool area was nice, I didn’t use it. On one of building sides balconies faces hospital pretty close to hospital, probably why it’s so quiet. The other side overlooks a neighbourhood of smaller houses. There were chickens living nearby and hung out in the tree line by the front parking lot. The chickens were entertaining in the mornings, never saw a person tending them, but could see what appeared to be a nice little coop. Everything you’d hope New Orleans would be. Rooms were big and clean. Nice decor. No issues with room at all. Only thing is limited breakfast and late night snack options. Coffee was good. I would stay again if I return.

Great place away from the hubbub! Walkable neighborhood with lots of great local restaurants nearby. Only 10-15 minutes from FQ, City Park, Audubon Park, or the Caesar Dome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Comfortable and reasonably priced!

This is the place to stay in Uptown New Orleans! Clean, modern, and very friendly staff. Walk to the historic streetcar to the French Quarter. Freret St is a block away with restaurants, grocery store and bars. The view from my room at night was gorgeous.

My stay was 9-13 October 2024. In town for a 60th & 70th Birthday celebration. Choose the hotel for location, price and balcony. Hotel was clean, there was parking, location was great-upscale side, located near a medical center, nice restaurants in one direction and fast food eating other direction. Did feel safe. First night was quiet but next night & after, guests were noisy because of the echo in the hallway areas. Some guests I could here in their room down the hallway & slamming of doors going from room to room until they left out around 11/12pm. Room was cleaned (had to wipe down in spots that were not), there is daily service. The shower did cause water on floor no matter how I turned the shower head. It is a minimal type of hotel but I knew that from the start. I was out all day helping with setup of birthday celebration. Out around 8/9am and back in room by 8/9pm until party. Parking lot, not paved, fenced but not locked however location is good. It’s a good hotel for the price and what you may want. Did have a nice pool area, but the parking garage & business building overlooking pool wasn’t a favorite to me. My biggest regret was the echoing of loud noise from guests, especially very late at night.
