Stellar service from Joe Mitchell ... I was having difficulty getting a room with physical access for a disability. Joe was taking care of his busy front desk while he was also helping me on the phone. If you want authentic consideration, ask this is where you will find it.

We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Baton Rouge near I-10. The two bedroom was cleaned and smelled strongly of bleach. The room furniture overall was in poor condition. Curtains were ripped. The faux leather dining chairs were rubbed down to the rubber and one was just duct taped. The sofa bed mattress where my granddaughter slept was stained and thin. We piled car blankets on top of the mattress and she slept on those. It was in the same poor condition in the Courtyard where we found the hot tub pool to be growing algae and things unkempt. In locked doors to the outside of the hotel where you needed your room key, several doors were propped open with sticks and bricks. One outside door had no handle which makes that a fire and security issue.

My recent reservation was unexpected. The staff was most accommodating. This location is a little older than any location I’ve ever visited. BUT THE TEAM WAS GREAT. They acknowledged my concerns and were very attentive to my concerns immediately. They switched my room and repaired the toilet, breakfast was delicious . The went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They did their very best and in my opinion that meant more than words can express. The age of this location is not their fault but that of the facility’s corporate office. Each of the staff are aware of the limitations and or restrictions of the location but they are there to do a job and that they did with smiles on their faces and a heart of gold. Thanks to the manager and staff for putting your best foot forward and making my stay pleasant. Each of you are appreciated and I’m thankful for your genuine concern and attention to my requests. .

If you are used to staying at Marriott properties and a certain standard DO NOT stay here! This place is run down and disgusting. My room was musty and smelled like someone at some point smoked in it. If you want to workout good luck. They have two treadmills which have I’m sure never been cleaned and an elliptical. There were bugs on the ground and the water jug was empty on my first day working out and then second oh yeah still empty. There are NO cleaning wipes to wipe down the equipment and as I stated it appears the cleaning staff also skips servicing this area. I wanted to walk to the planet fitness a mile away but couldn’t since there are zero side walks to get there on a main road. I could see the “spa” from the treadmill and it was green inside and looked disgusting as well. As a titanium elite member I stay at a lot of Marriott hotels and this one was by far the worst.

Joe and Danielle very excellent. Joe check me in Danielle checked out. Both called me by name and 100% met my somewhat particular specific room request . The place is a little run down so points quite low. Making good value Rugs on some stairs are frayed elevator frame quite marred luggage cart wheels hard to maneuver. Breakfast quite poor no egged. Booked fried or scrambled. No milk except skim no bacon or ham. Hot water not hot. Fruit poor quality. Quite a contrast from Pineville Residence that had a great breakfast crispy bacon fluffy and tasty eggs , good fruit
