DoubleTree by Hilton Kansas City Overland Park

I am a Hilton diamond member and won’t ever stay here again. there is a hidden $10 parking charge. No one even asked if I was parking a car overnight. No signs to indicate there is a charge. I called to get the charge removed and it took two tries to get it done. Overpriced to start with. There are much better options in the area.

Front desk staff was top notch. Room was clean. Comfortable bed and piping hot water for the shower! My only complaint is about the lights in the pool room. I went for a swim the evening I checked in and over half of them were burned out. Aside from that? I’ll definitely be back.

Very disappointing and overpriced. We were 2 people in 2 rooms visiting family in the area. Had to take 2 double beds after a change was needed. Upon arrival one room has one bed made with a pile of bedding on the other. The other room had no made beds and no comforters. Also no toilet seat cover. And leftover food in the frig they charge you extra for. The coffee and gift shop only open until 11 am unless you get someone from front desk to open. The bar was closed early when we checked. the restaurant is only open until 10:30 for breakfast, closes then reopens for lunch 11 to 1. The hot tub was way too hot (we are a hot tub using family) and water was murky. Pool water was perfect temp but water was GREEN also we could only use it one day out of a 3 day stay because it was packed with screaming jumping kids. Apparently some sports event had hotel booked with families with kids. Hotel needs to have adult swim time a couple times a day and get kids out. These were middle school age kids and old folks get knocked down easily. really hard to get replacement coffee and washcloths from housekeeping after 1st night. Otherwise bed comfortable, pillows were great. Some front desk staff were friendly, others not so much. There is a lovely section of the hotel leading to and around pool and conference areas of woods right next the glass walls which is pretty cool fyi extra charge for parking. no free breakfast

When booking I did not realize this was a multi floor hotel. That said, the elevators were plenty fast and available. Front desk staff was super helpful and overall it was a great stay. Quiet, comfortable, HVAC and Internet worked as expected. Good location too.
