Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Owensboro Waterfront

This is definitely not an ordinary Hampton Inn property. This property is beautiful, along the beautiful Ohio River, walkable to just about everything in town. The Convention Center is right next door on one side, the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum on the other side. The staff were very friendly, they all went above and beyond. I do have to mention Kenny at the front desk, thank you for everything! There was a fountain in the lobby. To the side was the breakfast area which has plenty of seating. Breakfast included different flavored waffles, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, breads, muffins, yogurt, fruit, cereal, oatmeal and more. The food was delicious! I stayed in a King Studio Waterview Room with Balcony, Room #719. My room was very spacious with an incredible view of the Ohio Riverfront. Entering the room is a long minibar area with a sink, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Then is the living room area with a couch and a door that leads out to the large balcony to look over the beautiful Ohio River. There is a long desk with the TV on the wall over it that separates this room from the king size bed. The TV is shared by the living room and bed area. To the side of the bed area is a large bathroom vanity with the sink and a large, mirrored closet with very good lighting. The toilet and tub/shower have a separate door. The room was very clean. Daily housekeeping was provided, they replenished anything I needed. I very highly recommend staying at this hotel. I will definitely come back again!

During my time working on a film crew at this location, the entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They were super friendly, responsive, and readily available to assist with any questions or needs throughout the shoot. Special thanks to Hunter and Chris, who did some heavy lifting. And Ms. LaVonne in the cafeteria, who made sure I ate properly. Roll call: Georgia, Precious, Raymond, Pete, Stacia, Alaura, Paula, Isaac, Justin, and Jahara are all great assets to the company as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better host, and I will definitely come back to do more business here in the future.

Hotel is overall very good, however staff flexibility could be better. Freezing cold outside, so politely asked to have access to the gym 40 minutes before they officially open at 5 am, but the receptionist referred to policies and was not willing to do that. Cannot understand the reasoning behind that at all. Will stay at the neighboring Holiday Inn next time.

Hampton Inns are typically dependable and consistent. This location takes several steps beyond that. The location on the banks of the Ohio River adjacent to great venues is remarkable. The view is great. The overall impression would do a Hilton proud. The lobby is large and open…even a water feature. There are a couple of shops, a salon, and a seafood restaurant accessible from the lobby. Everything about the hotel seems to be at least a click or two above what you’d expect.

This hotel has a great location along the riverfront. The hotel restaurant was very good as well - one of the best meals I had during my stay. My room was clean and well maintained. The hotel staff were helpful and responsive when I had questions about my reservation.
