Wingfield Inn

The area is safe. The room was clean. The staff were nice. However, the breakfast area didn’t look clean. The “free" breakfast food looked like leftovers from the day before; maybe 2 days before which is why we will would not recommend staying here.

The room was very clean and pillows were good. Nothing fancy but like I said clean and nice. You could park right outside your room which makes it easy to haul your luggage in and makes it really easy if your are traveling with an animal. Beware though, they are limited on places to eat and a few of then closes at 2PM. we got DQ and took it back to the room which was fine with us. Would definitely stay here again. It was very quiet so we were able to get a good nights sleep

Check in was easy but I can see why other reviewers felt a bit unsafe. The best thing about this place was that our rooms were clean. Other than that everything you saw, both inside and out, needed either upgraded or repaired. The breakfast area had broken machines. There are several signs telling you what is not allowed. They stopped the breakfast 30 minutes before the posted time. We ended up moving to a different hotel after just one night. My advice is to stay somewhere else.

The town of Mayfield, Kentucky is still recovering from a Dec 2021 tornado hit. Then the Wingfield Inn lost its sign to yet another tornado. Don't be put off by the storm-damaged sign. The hotel is clean and friendly and putting itself back together. Breakfast was filling and the price was right. Nice place.

We made a quick trip to visit a family member who lives near Clinton. This place was hopping with a lot of people checking in and out. Michelle, manager was great with getting us the very last room that day. Whew, we really needed that, every other hotel was a lot further away from where we needed to be. This wasn't the last time that I was impressed with her and her hardworking ethic. All I had to do was watch her to see that and how welcoming and kind she was with others. The rooms were clean and in good condition. Pretty good for a hotel that was in an area still recovering from the second tornado that went through in March. Overall, we were very satisfied.
