Family weekend to watch granddaughter's volleyball tournament. We requested a room on higher floor. Got a room on 1st floor right behind the basketball court. Unless you go to bed late and rise early, the sound of kids yelling and dribbling the basketball makes sleeping difficult. Windows have 'automatic' darkening privacy curtains .. that didn't seem to work. On calling the front desk that toilet was clogged on arrival .. was given a plunger with instructions to handle it ourselves. The refrigerator door in my daughter's room looked like it had been in a gun fight. Property is located in a great area with plenty of dining options.

In writing--and contemplating about--these reviews, I (and hopefully you, the reader) should understand hotel stay experiences can not only be subjective, but also contingent on 1. Expectations, 2. Staff present at the exact time of your stay, 3. Other guests 4. Current affairs at the location, and 5. Events unforseen. (Sorry for the massive run-on). My goal with the reviews I write is to mostly warn people of horrible establishments. If I have a positive experience, I certainly want to share that as well! BUT it isn't a guarantee that my positive experience means you will have one as well. In other words, if I rate a place positively, please don't hold me to it. Lord knows a positive stay can very quickly turn into a negative one in many ways. One last rant: Once upon a time, reserving a hotel stay was a luxury experience. Hotels were great. Great locations. Great structures. Great staff. Today , finding an amazing hotel at a value is like finding a warm blanket in a snow storm! During the pandemic, (when it was difficult to staff positions) a traumatizing decline in quality of staff and service took place. As with most cost-cutting measures, conglomerates decided to keep with that tradition, the tradition of lining their pockets meanwhile not delivering on their word. Hotel staff no longer are of the orientation of understanding that they are in a service industry. My experiences as of late reflect staff who feel that you should feel privileged to stay at said establishments. That said. I recommend this hotel tentatively. I did for certain enjoy my stay. But whether that was because I "stayed off the radar," or because the hotel generally is okay, I couldn't tell you. I can tell you some staff members were greatly inept, and some staff were justly simply very rude. If you get lucky, you can score. But it could be a bust. I had a comfortable stay. I most appreciated that no one entered the room during our extended stay (which is a very high selling point and I did very much appreciate that). Again. Whether that's across the board, or just my experience, I couldn't say. If you find it at a great price, I say, give it a whirl! It is a bit outdated. Certainly not the cleanest. But there are windows that open fully (which LOVED!!! Vent away all that trapped air & dust, baby!!!), and the A/C systems are very ROBUST! I'll be here all night, don't forget to tip your servers!

We arrived at the hotel and had an easy check-in. We were advised that if we wanted housekeeping to straighten up the room, we would need to make an appointment the day before. If no appointment was made, there would be no housekeeping during our stay. The bed was so-so and the pillows were a lumpy disaster. It wasn’t until the next day when we went to open the drapes saw the stains on the curtains near the bed. How housekeeping could have just ignored this mess is unbelievable. The stains were not wet looking, even the large one, so they must have been there for some time. We told one of the front desk personnel maybe they should have housekeeping replace the “crime scene curtains.” We were surprised on day 3 when we returned to our room and housekeeping had come and straightened up the room without an appointment…and the stained drapes were still there. Strange. Day and overnight front desk personnel is the reason for the decent rating.

Been here three weeks asked for one room cleaning and didn’t get it. The room was dirty when I got here I bought cleaning supplies to clean it. The AC is not working and although I’ve said something and Maintenance has come up, nothings been done. The room is sitting in the high 70s, what hotel have you ever been to and they’ve said it’s hot outside get over it basically! I should be reimbursed for my fans I’ve had to purchase! The amount of money spent here since Novemeber with our company and you would think we would be treated better than this! Pool has been closed the whole time front desk staff acts clueless. The old man does not care not only is it filthy. It’s the worst experience I’ve ever had. We all will be back and we all will ask for the hotel on the other side, not coming again. Room hasn’t been cleaned because the lady standing in the hallways on their phone all day long literally handed knee bedding to make the bed after a long day of work in this heat. I should be able to come back to a cold room to relax or at least a pool to swim in.

Positives: Staff was very kind and attentive. Breakfast was good Not so good: The physical property is way outdated. Carpet is worn. Faucets loose and don’t fit. Room smelled musty. Didn’t feel clean. TV from the 90s (not digital, no cable or HBO or Netflix). TV did have a remote control but that was it. Property needs an overhaul. Or don’t charge the high rates which led us to believe that everything would be fine. It’s all about expectations.
