Hyatt Place Florence Downtown

The front desk could have been more helpful upon check-in, he really didn't seem to care, nor was he helpful at all. It was POURING rain and both unloading spots were taken. My husband circled the block while I retrieved a cart and we unloaded in the rain. I checked-in while he parked, but we didn't know that a key was needed to enter the parking lot, so he drove around the block, again, and I had to get out, in the rain to take it to my husband, in the rain. Then I locked myself out of the room because the door slammed on me when I tried to maneuver the cart. Luckily a housekeeper (Erica) was nearby and saw what happened and was nice enough to assist. Thankfully, since I was soaked. That was the first experience, it left a BAD impression. Our room was nice and clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable and the linens were top quality. Breakfast (9am) was a joke; a line for plain bagels and donut holes, another line for toasting. We didn't bother. No eggs, no french toast (as per signage). A communal bowl of yogurt had "stuff" dripped in it. The was some sad looking (wilted) fruit and generic coffee around the corner. The large sign on the front of the hotel "Starbucks Coffee Served Here" was misleading as it's only available at the bar, which was closed. The "hot pot" station was a mess. I really wished I'd brought my phone to take pictures, but it really wasn't worth my time to go back for it. And we will not be back. We were in Florence to visit our first grandchild and hoped to have found a nice hotel that we could count on for our upcoming, frequent visits. We will not be giving Hyatt a second chance.

This was an affordable and comfortable hotel with a convenient location. Our family of three stopped over for one night, and this hotel had everything we needed. The room was clean and spacious. The towels and sheets were soft and the beds were comfortable. There was a basic free breakfast available. Parking is free and located about a block away so you will want to unload your items in front of the hotel. We would definitely stay at this hotel again when stopping in Florence.

It was an overall good stay. Met my expectations, the room was clean, and the staff were friendly. I would recommend this hotel if you were to visit Florence. Sometimes it was hard to get ahold of the front desk if you’re calling from the room and the business center was out of service but that’s minuscule.

Clean hotel. Staff was helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Overall, it was a nice hotel, and I would stay again if I came back to the area. Multiple restaurant options within a block or two walk from the hotel.

A Friendly and extremely attentive staff. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was good and I don’t have anything but good things to say about my experience. My family, and I appreciate the assistance that we received from members of your staff. We also appreciated the information you provided to us in terms of getting to the hospital.
