Please disregard reviews prior to 2021. It is under new ownership. We camped at Oak campground with our sons and their young boys. We had adjacent sites just steps from the playground. The campground was so quiet. We were right next to some pens where they kept the new fawns and mama deer they raise, along with turkeys. The kids loved the splash pad and playground. There are some nice hiking trails through the woods. There were wagon rides behind tractor available. The owners are amazing and attentive to guest needs. The bathrooms are clean. The roller rink is huge and so cool! The hotel and guest house are beautiful and you walk right next to them on the hiking trail. There is also a big catch and release fishing pond. The place is dog friendly. It’s small enough to walk to all amenities, but large enough to offer lots of activities. They have mini golf, pickle ball courts and horse shoes as well. I’m so happy to see this place get the love it deserves and be a gem in northeast Kansas again!

We camped here for Labor Day weekend. We had the best time. The park was packed but there is so much to do and see that it didn’t feel cramped. The camping spots were close but we weren’t bothered by this and expected it on a holiday weekend. For $10 5 and up can get a wrist band this is good for all activities at the park. On Sundays everything is free. There is a skating rink, splash pad with slip n slide, mini golf, tennis and basketball courts, park, stocked pond that is catch and release, white tail deer they raise, museum, church, hotel, hiking, and mineral springs. For Labor Day they had wagon rides driven by an older tractor, food truck, barnyard Olympics, basket weaving, and other activities. Our camping spot was well shaded, pull through, with full hook ups and Wi-Fi for $50 a night. We stayed in the North campground. The owner did tell us that families usually stay at the Oak campground because it is closer to all amenities. We didn’t mind the walk/bike ride from our spot. All campers were so nice and the owners truly go above and beyond.I am not sure what amenities are at the Oak side. All restrooms/shower houses were very clean and updated. You can buy fire wood for $5 bundle and ice for $3 a bag. On Sunday evening at 5:00 they did tours of the hotel they have remodeled. They have history with the tour. It’s stunning and is on vrbo and Airbnb. The park is North of Sabetha and just 2 miles from Nebraska border. Paved roads lead up to campground. They have seasonal spots at this campground as well. Sabetha has a newer pool with slides. We can’t wait to go back again!

Our group of adults and kids (ages 1-7) enjoyed several days at Sycamore Springs in the historic hotel, now rented as a whole. The new owners have restored the hotel to a very high quality AND attended to so many little details like a kitchen well-supplied with cooking utensils and dishes, a cabinet with games and toys, and hooks for towels in all the needed places. Each of the 10 bedrooms has its own sink and closet! There was LOTS of room inside for us to spread out and do different activities and not worry about waking sleeping kids. FYI, the hotel is a historic building with steps throughout, even on the main floor. All 10 bedrooms are on the second floor, up a long flight of stairs. There are ample activities for all! Do not miss the huge, historic wood floor skating rink, charming mini golf, 2 fun playgrounds, or hiking. Other activities include: small museum in the train depot, visiting whitetail deer the owners are raising, seeing the historic springs, tennis/badminton/basketball/volleyball courts (basic equipment available), and generally exploring the property. We ran out of time to try the fishing pond. Sycamore Springs is compact enough to walk from place to place but also big enough to spend several days exploring. They also offer tent and RV camping. We did not use these since we stayed at the hotel but it all looked well maintained and the restrooms are sparkling clean and recently updated. We will be back!

If you haven’t visited Sycamore Springs in the last year, or even this year, make it a must! The entire place is incredible. It’s beautiful, relaxing, entertaining and interesting. Perfect for our family of all ages. Hosts were substitutes, but could haven’t been better. We only saw the beauty of the hotel from the outside. But already are making plans for a return. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise!!

We’ve been camping here for the last two weeks and love it. Our kids love hiking , fishing, rollerskating tennis basketball badminton. The new owners have gone above and beyond to restore all aspects of the campground. You won’t be disappointed. Bathrooms are clean. The location is off the beaten path which is a huge draw for us.
