Thunderbird Inn Georgia

The bed was absolutely fabulous. Jorena, a staff member, was a wealth of knowledge and asssistance. Room was very clean. If you love "retro", this is your kind of place. The evening popcorn treat was terrific! My husband loved the morning donuts. Would recommend to others.

Comfortable beds, very clean and a cheap sleep for Savannah on a weekend. The property has limited parking ($20/night extra charge) and being right on the road and older the rooms are very noisy. We brought a fan and so it wasn't bad with the white noise. Located on the west end of the historic district and a few blocks walk to the west end of river street.

Unfortunately, this didn't work out well. Since I have "special" pillows for my neck, I brought them along. Inadvertently, I left them behind upon check-out (so much for considering them special!). I called and even returned to the "Inn" so I could retrieve the pillows, but they had vanished. How can pillows that are twice the size of the Inn's pillows disappear? Otherwise, the Inn is "meh" and in need of a fresh coat of paint and a good clean (dirt on walls and in the corners) and repair (one of our lights was broken and one without a bulb). We stayed for the novelty but would never return or recommend.

Unique retro motel with a nice vibe. The desk staff is outstanding. Room was spacious and the bed superbly comfortable. One bonus - real cotton sheets. Not the hot stifling polyester sheets you find nowadays. Con: The room floor could have been cleaner. Pro: Within walking distance of the river and places to eat. No hot breakfast but really good donuts and coffee in the lobby. And a note. The information for this hotel may say “parking available” but it’s not free. There is a $20 parking fee to park at the hotel.
