Baymont by Wyndham Kansas City KU Medical Center

The rooms were clean, to an extent, but the outside the main hotel the trash was overflowing, inside the main hotel look like it hasn’t been cleaned in days. They need a lot of updates other besides that the lady at the front was nice and helped!

Rooms were not clean; smoke alarms beeping due to needing battery changes the entire 2 days we were there. Front desk staff was not friendly. There were no channel guides in the rooms. The front desk lady didn't even tell us where or when breakfast was; we had to figure it out on our own the first morning. I'm very disappointed in this being a Baymont motel. I would not recommend this motel.

Not much great except for nice workers. NOT a hotel if you ask me. Reminded me of a hotel right off the highway. Noisy, no extras, entrance and building just ugly and run down. WAY OVERPRICED FOR THE ROOM AND THE AREA. Decent service though....

This place is a disaster. I'm nearly certain this place is one giant health code violation if not a direct contradiction of Inn Keeper laws. The only thing saving this place is the price, distance to KU med and a Sonic in the parking lot. The price wasn't worth it. I'd gladly pay a little more to know I'm staying in a place that isn't nasty.

(1) Location. If you intend to visit the National World War I Museum and Memorial, 18th and Vine museums, Harry S. Truman NHS, Kansas City Zoo, etc., this is a good location. Easy access to I-35 for out-and-back trips to places like Topeka. Plenty of restaurants nearby. (2) Cleanliness. There was trash from previous guests throughout my room. However, my room received service each day except Sunday. (3) Pest Control. I can confirm all of the reviews about roaches. I cannot remember staying at a hotel with so many roaches and spiders in my room. The manager and staff should be embarrassed. (4) Safety. A disturbing number of smoke alarms were disconnected or missing - including the one in my room. Low Battery alerts could be heard throughout the hallways. (5) Random Notes. Plenty of parking. Several exterior doors difficult to open. Relatively few breakfast options which sometimes did not taste very good. My room's WiFi, clock radio, and television worked fine. Microwave and refrigerator also worked fine. Some late night noise from I-35 and trains; my earplugs came in handy.
