Extended Stay America Select Suites Des Moines Urbandale

First mistake I made was booking on a 3rd party site-so we couldn’t leave after 1 night. The bedding seemed clean and beds were comfortable. Sorry that’s all the good I have to say. 1 bar of soap and 4 bath towels. That’s it for “amenities”. Also the website says continental breakfast. There’s none. TV did not work. The floor was filthy. Maybe swept. Definitely not mopped. I asked for a pet free room. Dog hair everywhere. We slept and left so I suppose we got what we paid for.

If you have low standards, you’ll be fine. Nothing atrocious and you’ll survive. But some things: the floor was sticky, the complementary breakfast was muffins and nutribars that ran out before 8am, the shampoo cleaned NOTHING, and my friend reportedly saw blood stains on the bed (cannot confirm, I didn’t want to know). The staff was very friendly and helpful. For the price, it was just okay. Buy soap because the dishes weren’t clean. I’m fine, but I’m more happy to be home than I’ve ever been.

First off it was my fault for booking a one bedroom. I ended up sleeping in the recliner for one night. I can’t believe they call this room a suite. Holes in the ugly green carpet. Had to ask for dishes to eat our delivery, no coffee pot in the room, if we asked we could have got a coffee pot but we were told they didn’t have coffee. What hotel doesn’t have coffee available in the room?? We went to the Pilot down the street for coffee. They had it at 6:00 Am by the front desk. Our room was very dated and dirty. We didn’t shower there in the morning. We will wait for our next hotel to do that. We felt bad for our dog, which we were charged for, he slept in his bed on the dirty, hole filled carpet. Free breakfast included oatmeal and granola bars. If you call this room a suite we paid $167.00 for the his ??I’d hate to see a regular room. Very disappointing. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

Everything was great! The location is so convenient being right off the free way. I stayed on the first floor and it was pretty quiet, my room had nice wooded floors but the furniture did look pretty outdated

Excellent! Breakfast very is small, definitely need to get stuff to cook in your room. The room was very clean though the furniture definitely needs some updating. Hotel staff was very nice friendly.
