Hilton Garden Inn Des Moines Urbandale

Broken stuff in the room...entire reception area under construction with drop sheets and wall protectors...given the inconvenience they respond by charging customers $12.95 each for breakfast plus $1.00/ per bottle water in the rooms...incredibly stupid marketing...given the mess surrounding clients they should comp all those minor offerings....maybe the worst Hilton marketing effort ever seen..

Breakfast was okay. Room felt very dated and dull. Air conditioning unit was noisy. Friendly staff at reception and some places to eat nearby. Okay for 1 or 2 night business stay but would not recommend for more than that. Rooms were the main let down. Modernise them in line with reception / lobby and this would help with the vibe of the hotel stay.

Beautiful facility, super clean, super quiet. The pool isn’t huge but it’s clean. The beds were comfortable and my whole family slept well. Dog friendly. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are updated, clean and inviting. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has jumped it treasured stay we have always had with this hotel. The hallways were filthy, freezing cold, and the elevator made you feel like an ice cub in a a freezer! There was so much dirt on the carpet it tracked into the rooms. The maids didn't speak English so you couldn't ask for an extra towel or anything like that and the beds were slapped up made my 5 yr old couldn't have made them better. We are Hilton diamond members, but no longer. If this is how they handle their customers, we are done. Apparently so is everyone else. It was practically empty and it has been always full when we have stayed at this hotel. We used our points and it still cost us money they bogusly charged. Never has that happened. We were very sad it has let go of customer service 100% No one cares there. The last stay one year ago, I had my new weathers stolen out of our suitcase and they did nothing about it. There are better choices nearby and I suggest you consider those.

This is our 3rd stay at this hotel. It is clean, could use a little updating in the rooms but still nice and comfortable. Let me tell you Jami at the front desk is amazing. She is friendly, helpful always has a smile and is extremely pleasant to talk with. When we checked in for the week I remembered her from the last stay here. As long in she is working the front desk this will always be our go to place when we visit the Des Moines area. I am a Hilton diamond member and I see both good and bad desk staff. Jami is the best I have ever ran across in my travels. We will be back!
