Hotel Chauncey Iowa City Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The Front Desk Clerk had to be found after waiting over 20 minutes. Three other guests were also waiting & were confused because there was no desk signage about returning. After calling the website & Hilton phone numbers, she was found & returned. After asking if we were the callers, she put us in a room with a loud TV next door that was on all night. I would avoid this Hotel until they manage their Front Desk clerks more closely.

Room nice and clean, suggest adding a mirror on one of the walls outside the bathroom. Like in the walk way space from the bathroom. The tv channels kept stopping so couldn’t watch any shows all the way through. Assume the WiFi was slow. The entrance from garage on fourth floor wasn’t clean and had urine smell. Very pleased with size of room and amenities in it, even had full size refrigerator.

What a great stay! We were upgraded to a beautiful high floor balcony corner. OMG! Room 812 for a big beautiful win! Nice kitchen with top end appliances. Floor to ceiling windows, huge balcony. Nathan at the desk was kind and accommodating as was Miriam at the on site restaurant, bar, bowling, pinball place. She was knowledgeable and kind! A great asset for "spare me"..she was fantastic . There is also a theater and coffee house on site. This truly is one unforgettable stay! Thank you so much Hotel Chauncey!! See you soon!

I was not happy with me experience at your hotel. The parking and entrance into the hotel was a mess. Because of this I incurred multiple unneeded charges due to the parking garage and hotel configuration. There was confusion on how to enter the hotel. The bath room was another story. The shower was slicker than an ice rink. There is nothing to hold onto just walls and glass. The shower head is worthless and has little water output. The toilet paper in the bathroom is the cheapest I have seen since I was in the Marine Corps. Strait John Wayne, single ply, poke your finger through every time toilet paper. The room was not great. The cheap carpet tile didn't look like they had been vacuumed since the last visitor. I ended up leaving early because of the distaste I have for this place. Over priced hipster garbage is all it is.

We really liked everything about the hotel except the AC/furnace system is loud and it was 76 in our room and we couldn’t get it cooler. To be fair, we live in a condo that has a system that will not activate the AC if it is cooler than 65 outside so maybe that was the situation. Otherwise, really comfortable bed and pillows, excellent bed lighting, electrical outlets next to bed. We were going to shows at the Englert and the James theaters so it was easy walking. Plenty of good food options, too. Our room had new fridge and freezer that worked great, a dishwasher, a 4-burner stove, glasses, cups, utensils, some pans. Closet and drawer space, desk, great shower room (slippery in shower) and easy link to phone entry to room. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Iowa City.
