Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Des Moines West IA

Outstanding customer service ~ Sweet Amylah Sandoval at the front desk was the perfect combination of friendly & efficient, cheerfully placing me the "just right" room. Although the weather was great, I always appreciate a covered entrance & automatic front doors; anyone who has ever tried to hold a door open in bad weather as they wrestled an overloaded luggage cart into a hotel knows exactly what I mean. Speaking of which, there were several luggage carts available. Coffee & freshly baked cookies in the beautiful lobby. My room, a double queen was clean & comfortable. Fridge/micro, in-room coffee/tea. Free wifi w/ample signal & easily accessible bedside & desktop outlets for charging electronics. Bathroom was spotless with generous supply of bright white towels. After a hot shower w/great water pressure, I melted off to sleep on super comfortable bed with triple sheets & lots of fat, fluffy pillows. Lovely property, park-like setting, well manicured. Parking lot was brightly lit & I felt my vehicle was secure. I wasn't the least bit leery walking my little dog at dusk or early next morning. Mexican restaurant, Cracker Barrel & fast food within walking distance. I was able to print off some important permits at the business center. Early next morning, receipt was under the door which can mean a lot if you are rushed to hit the road. The continental included standard offerings, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs & sausage, waffles, etc. I was delighted to see REAL OATMEAL rather than the sugary instant stuff, and blueberries, granola, fruit cocktail, myriad choices, YAY !!! Tables were kept clean & items restocked. It seemed as though every need was thoughtfully met beforehand so that the guest experience was top notch. As I dropped off my key, Lisa sent me on my way with a smile. I will definitely be back :-D

I came to Des Moines for 5 days for business and needed a budget friendly hotel. The Country Inn in Clive was my top choice simply for the free breakfast and hot tub. I'd never stayed here before, so it was a gamble. I am SO happy I chose this hotel. I'm usually pretty satisfied as long as I have a comfy bed and good shower and this place checked both boxes. There were a few other things that stood out, simply because I am picky (and a bit strange). The bathroom has an extra light switch for a night light so I didn't have to leave the big light on and shut the door. There are also full size products in the shower, (super helpful for a 5 day stay), and the pool was so clean and set up with towels at every chair and table, not to mention the towel station was completely full. The breakfast had something a little different each morning AND there are delicious little cookies available all day. I will definitely choose this hotel the next time I am in town! Great value!

Room clean and roomy, well stocked. I would definitely stay again. Very friendly staff, attentive and efficient. Check in gal was so sweet.

This hotel has exceptional value and great managment. Its location is very convenient from I 35, and is next door to two different restaraunts. We had the suites with folding bed/couch. A microwave and tiny fridge were useful. Our trip was at Christmas time, and was comfortable and clean, spacious and cozy. We found the hotel especially accomodating as people traveling with pets. The front desk staff located us next to a side door first floor so we could easily walk our two dogs. On a personal note: we were total dummies and our sneaky dog got loose in hotel while we took nephews on an outing. We were distracted and had absolutely no idea he snuck out the door. There were two managers, and other hotel staff, that corraled our dog as he evaded them. One manager even went to get him dog biscuits and leash, then took him on a walk. The front desk calmly called my cell and the managers waited with our dog while we hurried back. We are so thankful for the capable and kind staff that went the extra mile and saved the day! We will be staying again!

Motel is located right off the interstate on the west side of Des Moines and there is a Cracker Barrel within walking distance of the motel. I had a room with a single king bed and the room was divided into two rooms with a door to separate the bedroom from the rest of the room. The bathroom counter was small, but we liked the way the room was laid out, see photos. There were a couple of stains on the furniture and on the floor, but the room looked clean otherwise. The water took a long time to get warm but after it warmed up it got hot. My night stay for two people was $110.88 total. A fair value, I thought.
