When we read other reviews that has one or two stars - aren't we all a bit apprehensive about what to expect. We travel as often as we can, The ISLE is a very very nice hotel, even if your not here for the Casino. The room is a standard large room Bed is very comfy, restroom is large. Even better the shower with tub has a railing to hold onto, and the shower head had great pressure. Has the three bottle pumps of shower gel, shampoo, & conditioner. Has two towers/buildings of rooms and a parking lot with roof and an open lot. The ISLE is directly next to the Mighty Mississippi River, we can walk on the very long sidewalk for an evening or am stroll. Many on here exercising. The surrounding neighborhood has many pubs that we could walk to, a small hike. Indoor pool and hot tub, no outdoor pool. Casino has an aroma that I liked, it's here for the non smokers, yes this Casino allows others to light up. A small area of machines for us to gamble & Sports Betting with out the smelly smoke. Believe it or not no smoke clouds, you smell it if you're sitting next to a smoker. A MUST - visit the Old Fashioned Ice Cream shop, WOW, very good ice cream. Located down the opposite side of Casino. Hours 3 - 10 pm, same entrances. Casino gives you a one x 10.00 free play if you sign up for their card with your ID. I recommend the hotel, very clean and nice staff.

Stayed at this hotel for 7 days attending a convention. To be fair, we arrived early at 2 pm but our reservation confirmation email did not specify at what time was check-in. We were told on arrival that our room was not ready so to check back at 3 pm. By then there was a line-up of about 30 people and again, we were told our room was not ready and to come back at 4 pm. We got in line again (which was even longer), and finally made it to the check-in desk at 4:30, to be told again, our room was not ready. At that point, I said we would take anything and we were given a room. To my surprise, it was a king room, in the North Tower, as requested at booking. So not sure what room wasnāt ready but we were extremely happy to finally get in. Our room was very nice and clean. We had everything we needed except no microwave. Iām not sure why expensive hotels donāt provide microwaves when you can get one in cheap hotel but at least we had a mini-fridge. Nor does this hotel have laundry facilities ā we were directed to a laundromat a few blocks away. We also found out, if we want to get housekeeping, we need to call the front desk to be put on the list (thatās a first for me). The following day, someone from our club called us and left a message on our room phone. Unable to figure out how to retrieve this message, since there was no button labelled messages/voice mail, nor was there a Hotel service book anywhere in our room, I called the front desk to be told they didnāt know either. I hit all the black buttons ā I got security, then housekeeping, then a fax sound and the other buttons didnāt seem to work. I was not impressed since for the rest of the week, our phone had a flashing red light. We ate all our meals at Kellerās Express, next to the casino. We found the food very good, the service excellent but it was on the expensive side for what we were getting but at least, the coffee was free in the Casino and definitely the best I've had in a long time. They have an ice cream parlour opened Thursday to Sunday from 3 to 9. Excellent ice cream. They have a nice fitness room but we never found the pool which I know they have since we had pool towels in the room. This hotel is very big and with mobility issues, we never actually made it to the South Tower ā maybe thatās where the pool is. If staying at this hotel, make sure to bring a sweater ā A/C is on full so itās freezing everywhere you go. All in all, for a night or two, this hotel is very nice but any longer and thatās when you start to see the problems.

The staff are super friendly and that little Express cafe is very good, offering affordable well cooked fresh meals. The reason for leaving a bad review, however, is down to the Ramen noodles I found in the coffee maker where I poured my water. It was 1am and I needed that coffee before heading to Chicago, a 2 1/2 hr drive. When I informed the staff at the desk she was apologetic, but there was no means to write down my complaint. Finding a number to call or website to register my complaint has been difficult too and so I will have to report it to Iowa Inspections rather than being able to discuss it with the patrons first. Health hazard and disgusting.

My overall experience was good. My room was complimentary so I did not rate it as hard as I would have if I had paid for it. Blow dryer did not work in our room, there was a burn in the bed skirt and there were a few sticky spots on the floor. Everything else was great. Bed was super comfy. Staff were polite also. I would come back even with these few problems.

Starting with the customer service which was terrible. They took my ID and handed me the key with no conversation or directions or any communication. The rooms smelled disgusting, and they had food crumbs on the table. No room service for 2-night stay and was not informed in advance so we could get our own coffee or clean towels. Just a really bad experience. And I am one to always give a good review when deserved but this was an expensive disappointment. Coming back to Bettendorf in March and will not stay here.
